    How Do Options Make Predictions?

A very good question. The answer is this. Why birds and fish tend to swarm? Why such unintelligent creatures form such stable formations that last for long time? Did you know that if you put two metronomes that have different frequency onto a moving surface they quickly will synchronize by them...

    How Do Options Make Predictions?

I am sorry, I cannot. I am under huge obligations to my investors and my hedge funds. I can only tell you that for the first time on this board somebody found it by accident (or not). I have spent an enormous amount of time developing this subject and it is now our main investment strategy. All...

    How Do Options Make Predictions?

No, it's not it. It is a common belief, but it is not the diamond. It is the cave where the diamonds are but not the diamonds themselves.

    How Do Options Make Predictions?

This is the Holy Grail of intelligent trading. Unfortunately, I am not at liberty to revile this phenomenon but I can tell you that once you discover it you will improve your trading by factor of 5 at least. it has been a corner stone of my research for more than 10 years. It is the only...

    Where's the "Change"

Very true. It's not easy to come up with the solution to such a difficult problem. I do not know the answer either, but I think small and medium businesses might be supported best via corporate tax cuts and that, in turn, should create more jobs and fuel the economy. Of course I am no expert.

    Fibonacci Retracement Trading

Not very good. I have been exceedingly cautious. I am only up 2.5% in January this year. Mind you I only had 15% of the capital in play. The rest of it is in cash. I did much better in 2008 but got nervous by the end of it.

    Fibonacci Retracement Trading

I have a soft spot for Fibs. I use them differently, but the "art" of fibs gives me pleasure. Nice journal, keep it up. It's very clean

    Where's the "Change"

Most of the times I agree with you, Thunder. But this time around I am afraid you bought into a wrong idea. Fixing the infrastructure that is on the surface will destroy deeper support mechanisms of the economy and it will only make the situation worse. Fixing the economy has to start with...

    Selling Indicators

I would only try it if it had new information (not just price, volume, time). If there is no new information it can be always modeled using other known methods. For example: I have an indicator that considers option premiums, open interest and bid/ask ratios. That adds new info and makes it more...

Is this right time to Short PALM?

If you look at the option chains you will see that the open interest is building up. They expect something big. It should retrace itself again to 6.50 and then get you another $2 run. I sold some puts and cashed them out already. Just watch it.

Do You Think Trading is Gambling?

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING you do in life is gambling. Any time you make a decision you gamble. Game theory is all about making decisions. Read this "The Theory of Gambling and Statistical Logic" by Richard A. Epstein. You will understand.

Take The Year Off....Market stuck in neutral

I am here on ET since 2003 and under the current ID since 2004. Over all of these years I got to know a handful of real traders. The rest of the posters here (95% of them or more) are not traders at all. They are here for different reasons, I guess.

    Why the early morning rally

As early inductionist David Hume's causality approach was an attempt to create predicate based logic to explain complex events. Unfortunately, as Turing and Post have shown later not every algorithm could be reduced to a series of "if ... then" statements. Later psychologists and mathematicians...

    Paper trading options

You can have an option paper trading account at IB as well, but, I fully concur: there is no way you can test your option strategy reliably on the simulation account.

    Why the early morning rally

Causality denotes a necessary relationship between one event (called cause) and another event (called effect) which is the direct consequence (result) of the first. Normally, effect is promoted by multiple causes where their relationship cannot be formally established. In this situation the...
