Ignore list no longer ignores threads

Don't be an idiot. It's impossible to tell who started what thread on the title page. And it's tres annoying to click on an interesting looking topic that you then find out was started by some clown you put on ignore for good reason. This problem didn't exist before the change.

    Neural Networks - Louis Mendelsohn

All this assumes NN 'predictions' are actual improvements. Most predictions are crap. Where's the evidence that NN predictions, especially regarding something as mercurial as a financial market, are worth a damn? More to the point, if neural nets can accurately predict momentum, then they...

Opening Range Breakout, for Futures and Equities

Yeah systems that depend on a few huge winners to succeed tend to be losers in the real world because most traders just can't psychologically endure the associated huge drawdowns required to make the darn thing work. So unless the OP has some new twist on ORB that avoids big drawdowns, we...

Opening Range Breakout, for Futures and Equities

How about proving that it works before putting another worthless TA book on the market? From what I hear, ORB works about as well as OBV.

switching gears to Price Action via SLA

The difference should be obvious. If a 1-minute bar is less than 60 seconds, as it must be if the current close and the next open are different, then there is no flow. There are gaps. I get the concept of continuous time but bars represent discontinuity. This is obvious with stock daily...

switching gears to Price Action via SLA

Points well made. However your post has recalled a longstanding question of mine. Exactly how long is a 1-minute bar? It can't be 60.000 seconds because that would make the next opening price identical to the current close, which is rarely the case. So is a -minute bar 59 seconds in length...

switching gears to Price Action via SLA

For years, perhaps decades, 'time frame' or timeframe in the context of trading has referred to what some now call 'bar interval'. And some of us aren't about to change just because there is now an apparent agenda to push that change. A better term for the span of time in which you're...

    Elliot Waves

"The Elliott Wave Principle, as popularly practiced, is not a legitimate theory, but a story, and a compelling one that is eloquently told by Robert Prechter. The account is especially persuasive because EWP has the seemingly remarkable ability to fit any segment of market history down to its...

+1 Recently somebody else talked about indicators that "stood the test of time.". I had to laugh. Whether something in TA "stands the test of time" has nothing to do with merit.

    Savants like the Rain Man

The problem with a movie like LIMITLESS is that you have a nongenius writing about what it's like to be a genius. Knowing nothing about trading, the writer had Cooper's character tied to a computer all day instead of writing a program to do super-high-quality automated trading for him. Add to...

    John Galt

Corporatist assholes live for their contradictions. Here's a big one: they argue that corporations are persons and should have civil rights just like real people. BUT they also want to be able to buy and sell one another (corporations, I mean). So ... "give us human rights but we reserve the...

    Stages of a Trader

I meant how is your system working currently (in general terms, not today's conditions). It sounds like your (anti-trend?) system just isn't emulating the mkt's current conditions well. Are you trading EOD or intraday? Makes a big difference if you want to trade right from the next open.
