Are you trading PM?? Are you buying shorter dated wings for protection that expire,leaving the position vulnerable to a big adverse move?? Sounds like you are short spreads and delta hedged.. Do you get blown out at the short strike on expiry if you dont delta hedge?? Something is off...

Im guessing he is Delta hedged and short 30 Delta or less options..

How could it not be the options?? Hes obviously nude options

99% of market makers were not "fully hedged".... 99% of the MM were delta hedged,maybe with a short bias,but in no way were they synthetically short the call,i.e short stock,short put 1 to 1.. If you were short the wings,theres a good chance you are facing extinction

Its hard to tell if you are selling ATM spreads for apx half the strike width or OTM spreads for pennies on the dollar width

You can sell a longer dated OTM vertical and on expiry if its slightly ITM you could still make money..Im not sure what you actually said in your post

You and several others should read a basic primer/book on options.. It doesn't appear that most of the posters understand intrinsic vs extrinsic value.. You in particular are a bit confused with DTE and time value

OTM= Extrinsic= Time value
