I think System Market Analyzer could do what you seem.. Proceed with caution as you are heading in the direction of curve fitting.

    Risk management on breakout trading

If I understand you correctly, what your asking for is a pretty basic backtest/simulator that runs optimisations. You can test breakout levels, any imaginable stop and money management. FWIW, even though I am a discretionary trader,I would never commit capital before running simulations..

    How legit is options selling?

If your fundamental analysis is good and you have halfway human timing,I would strongly advise against selling OTM puts, except in those instances where vol is super jacked .You simply dont get paid enough when you are right, and that was always my biggest trading sin.... William Eckhardt of...

    How legit is options selling?

I'm confused..You sell naked puts for pennies in great quantity and feel getting assigned or having the stock crater is the best possible outcome??The reason being you can "buy more stock'or sell calls against your long position??? How exactly do you stay in business under these scenarios...

    How legit is options selling?

IB's do it because they accommodate their customers and they typically wind up short gamma/vega. The hedge funds I worked for did not appreciate tail risk, and the guys who are great directional traders rarely sell premium. They want to be paid when they are right. One of my ex colleagues is...

    How legit is options selling?

Here is my experience having been the head trader of equity derivatives at 2 major investment banks. If you run a short gamma book,it's not a question of if you blow up,it's simply when.. As I no longer trade OPM,I will only sell the notional that I am willing to own. Most of the time,I will do...

Tim Morge and the well-chosen example

I have no dog in this fight, but the one and quite possibly only point that Chipshot made that raises my Bullshit meter is Mr. Morge's Mentoring fees (12 Sessions) have now recently gone down from $25K to $19K. He is also offering Mentoring at 6 Sessions! ($10K), and his regular classes on a...

    Weekly SPY options

Thanks all....I am used to trading the SPX and naively assumed the index was cash settled after buying the spread, and was concerned with hedging the short option if exercised. One less thing to worry about..With that said,I should probably know the timing of dividends as well..

Hi all, Need a bit of help before I get myself in too much trouble.I am looking at the SPY options, and just started trading the 1 day calendars,i.e the options going out on Friday vs the following Monday. I am assuming/hoping that they both "settle" at the same time.By that I mean a 4:00 PM...

    Trading Calendars

Hi all, Curious to how one trades calendar. I typically trade calendars/diagonals as a directional bet,and am often faced with the the fortunate dilemma of whether to take profit on all.some or none of the position.. As an example,I recently put on the Xom 5/25 - 6/1 82.5 call calendar for...
