if u spend a little time with booktrader (TWS's DOM) you will find that you can program bracket orders with it as well, and ime it is faster than bracket trader. i thought bracket trader was decent, but booktrader can do the same stuff, generally speaking.

dollar cost averaging into the stock market, there has never been a 20 yr period where there wasn't a positive return, and in most of those 20 yr periods, the market was a better investment than most asset classes. this doesn't say much about TRADING anyways. but it says a lot about investing

here in the real world, market cap and size matters if there is X dollars margined in a 10 million dollars market that is more worrisome than 2x dollars margined in a 500 million dollars market, even though the latter has twice as much money margined apparently, statistics and math are too...

update: i do not know WHY my n225 mini through OSE was not getting data, and the guy from the chat was wrong (and you were right), it is CFTC approved. i even checked on their website i sent a trouble ticket in and... lo and behold... it started working tonight the mini is kind of cool.

jack... math is math unless you are trading 100% riskless arbs (which i doubt), your trading has an element of chance grow up successful trading can (given sufficient "n") render the element of chance largely irrelevant. see: game theory, etc. but saying that chance is not...

i agree that chess is not a good analog for trading at all. ESPECIALLY day trading. games that incorporate game theory, management of risk, and chance as an element are closest to trading poker is clearly analogous, for example.

i learned a lot about trading from carter (and to a lesser extent - hubert). a big part of their methodology is reading market internals for example, i have been very successful using the bollinger/keltner squeeze indicator (i don't have tradestation, so i programmed my own in...
