    IRA and 401(K)seizure

In my opinion, any serious attempt at this would result in one of two things: 1- A complete decimation of the Democratic party. or 2- A full-fledged revolution and a new political system.

Why America couldn't even spend the economic stimulus package?

Because all that money was dolled out to the states so they could keep their current, bloated salaries, without having to make any sort of cutback in present or future (pension) compensation. "The shovel ready poject" myth was just created as cover for this government bureaucracy bailout.

    Buffett's Partner: 'It's Over' for U.S. Economy

He can't explain because it's BS. There were only 12 Senators that voted against the bailout. This thing passed with flying colors. It had strong bipartisan support so nothing was going to stop it.

    Buffett's Partner: 'It's Over' for U.S. Economy

Yes, as you say, any tax increases will not be to pay down our debt, but rather the Dems in charge will look at it as an opportunity to spend even more. Prove to me first that you can dramatically cut spending, and then I'll lead the effort for a temporary tax increase to get us out of debt...

    Buffett's Partner: 'It's Over' for U.S. Economy

Watch for the Republicans to sabotage Ron Paul in the coming two years.

Health Insurers cutting their own throat

That's the crux of the problem. Health care is expensive. At the end of the day, whether we have a private or public health insurance system, we all have to put a price on our own health. Do you want to ration care for yourselves and loved ones in order to keep costs down? If we're...

    Tax issue

I don't believe that is correct, but I only trade through tax privileged accounts, so I'm not 100%. Here is a pretty neat capital gains calculator that I found, and it seems to indicate that your original thought was correct...

    The $555,000 Student-Loan Burden

I hope this chick works for a hospital or large group. If she's this financially illiterate, she definitely won't make it long in private practice if she's on her own.

    How to locate Exceptional Lawyers?

It's also good to ask other lawyers in your area. Even if they don't practice the specialty that you're looking for, if you know a lawyer, they can probably direct you to some of the better lawyers in your area that do practice what you're looking for.

    It's 2012: Obama vs. Cheney

I'm not too sure about that. I'm not sure that platform would be electable on a national basis, but there are several red states that could and would be interested in such a platform.

Collapse of the euro is 'inevitable' says French Banking Chief

I don't disagree with them having longer life spans due to a healthier lifestyle. There is no doubt that most Americans eat themselves into a shorter life. Quality of health care however, is not even close.

Collapse of the euro is 'inevitable' says French Banking Chief

Would you rather go to a Greek hospital or a hospital in Mississippi if it's your kid/wife on the line? Most in medicine look very skeptically at stats reported from most other countries (this is why drugs and devices that are easily passed in Europe often fail miserably to meet the FDA's...

    It's 2012: Obama vs. Cheney

Cheney will not run, nor would he be electable. I would however vote for him over Obama in a heartbeat. In fact, I would vote for him over McCain in a heartbeat as well. Either way, it's not going to happen.

Collapse of the euro is 'inevitable' says French Banking Chief

Greece has a per capita income less than half of GB's (about a 1/3rd of US's). In fact, it's even less than the Bahamas.

    U.S. jobless claims down 43,000 to 440,000

You're talking about the unemployment rate that doesn't, but should reflect the people that fall off due the roles. Not new jobless claims, which has nothing to do with the people that have been unemployed for months previously. Your point still stands though, that the real unemployment...
