Russia Confirms No Libyan Air Attacks Have Taken

Russia is a worthless crumbling country. No one cares what Putin thinks anymore.

NY times must think this is 1994!!!!

For you to charge for internet content, you must be highly specialized and provide something that can't be just as easily found for free. The NYT doesn't qualify as that.

Police arrest 16 in twisted gang rape of 11-year-old girl in Texas

Wow, what a disturbing article and weird justification by olias. Anyway, I do wish that our justice system would revert back to the way it was 120 years ago. Regardless of race, these guys need to be swinging from a tree limb, and that's the way it should be. I've never understood what it is...

Sale per Unit in 2009: McDonald's- $2,251,000/store Subway- $445,000 It's hard to make significant money unless you own 10+ Subways.

Subway has more stores than Mcdonalds

They may have more stores, but Subway's average sales per store is less than 1/4th that of McDonalds. I think Subway is literally my least favorite place to get a sandwich.

That's what I thought before I had kids.

    Kids = worthless investment?

Yes. Anyone who makes the claim that kids are a poor investment, have never had kids. You really can't understand what love is, until you have kids, IMO. Wives, gf's, siblings, parents, friends are all great, but aren't even in the same arena as your own children.

Obama healthcare reforms may not reduce medical bankruptcies, study suggests - latime

Yes, but the fact is, someone has to pay for the technology and personnel involved in health care. And by someone, I mean YOU AND ME. We pay for it all. It's just a matter of what form that payment takes: *Taxes- for government provided health care (medicare/medicaid/obamacare)...

“No Way Out” of Debt Trap, Gross Says: U.S. Living Standards Doomed to Fall

I agree it will have to be a combination of tax increases and spending cuts. I disagree that it's less damaging to introduce a VAT, rather than raising income tax rates. When given the choice, and the bond market will ultimately force a choice, the US will reduce entitlements over large...

    Best commodity ETF

There are many broad basket commodity ETF's such as DJP, RJI, GSG as well as dozens of commodity specific ETF's (like UNG). There is no one best, although UNG as you mentioned is one of the worst, if not the absolute worst.

“No Way Out” of Debt Trap, Gross Says: U.S. Living Standards Doomed to Fall

VAT = political suicide for anyone who advocates it. There is no appetite for a VAT in the US. We are a net importer. Our entire economy, for better or worse is based on people spending on goods/services. Chances of a VAT are far more remote than Obamacare being overturned, which...

Armies of Expensive Lawyers, Replaced by Cheaper Software

As to your title, it's not a bad thing for lawyers to be replaced, IMO. 70% of them are not trustworthy and 50% of them would sell out their own mother to make a buck. They are the 2nd biggest drain on business productivity in the US, behind government regulations.

    How high can gold get???

Not true. The Dollar is the reserve currency of the world currently. Gold is valued in Dollars, not the other way around. It is an asset class, just like housing, the stock market, bond market, corn, oil, etc all of which are valued in dollars. I can buy more electronics, a bigger...

    How to play Nat Gas?

For an ETF option, you can look at FCG....... much better than UNG. This fund looks to have bottomed last summer and has had quite a run. Here is the description of FCG: Fund Summary The investment seeks to replicate, net of expenses, the ISE-REVERE Natural Gas index. The fund invests...

IB Announces Commission Free Trading Of Innovative ETFs

I really would be interested in these products if they rebalanced monthly, rather than daily. Daily rebalanced leveraged products under-perform so badly on longer time frames, like I trade. This is a great concept though, and hopefully in a couple of years, there will be a monthly rebalance...

IB Announces Commission Free Trading Of Innovative ETFs

Interesting concept. I would never trade a brand new ETF until it's had 4-6 months of price history and starts to gain some liquidity. But these are definitely something to watch down the road. It seems that the major discount brokers will all be offering free etf trading soon.
