The Fed Is Destroying Jobs: Ken Griffin

We have seen very little Austerity in the last 50 years. Keynesianism has been applied but incorrectly. We have only seen the stimulative side, but have rarely, if ever built up reserves during periods of prosperity. I think THEORETICALLY Keynesianism could work, but it ignore political...

We are growing population, not jobs

In 1798, Thomas Malthus predicted that the world would run out of food in 1890, and recommended drastic population reductions (killing poor people). Ever since that time, there have been morons like yourself claiming the same thing.

22 things you need to know about trading from Vic Niederhoffer

Nothing against VN, but I guess we have different definitions of American Heroes if you consider an options seller worthy of that moniker.

Congratulations Bubble Ben, Dow 15,000 Almost Achieved

Agreed. I happen to like this crap from a personal stand point because I'm fairly secure in my ability to profit from it. My kids on the other hand, I do worry about due to all of the money pumping and shenanigans. It seems like eventually the piper gets paid one way or another.

BUBBLE ben bernanke "risking sequel to 2008 crisis"

Bernanke has thrown down in the MMT corner. We'll see if these "theorists" are right or wrong in the next decade.

The Fed Is Destroying Jobs: Ken Griffin

The Fed is strongly "encouraging" investors to take on more risk assets than otherwise they might be inclined to do. What could possibly go wrong?

With Central Banks now openly buying stocks, how can the Bull end?

Agreed.... This seems like a desperate measure that means one of two outcomes: 1- There has been a paradigm shift in monetary theory that wasn't possible previously when we were tied to a gold standard, but now Central Banks will be able to engineer an out come regardless of fundamentals...

With Central Banks now openly buying stocks, how can the Bull end?

Yes US junk bonds although there is no guarantee that junk will lead the market down. Frankly there is so much bond money chasing yields by going into junk bonds that they may continue to go up for some time. But junk bonds behave a lot more like stocks than most bonds. You can track them...

With Central Banks now openly buying stocks, how can the Bull end?

I'm watching the Nikkei, Yen and the JGB. Japan has basically said they are "all in" with creating inflation by any means necessary. They have stated they will double the BOJ balance sheet in the next two years. Their demographics are a nightmare and will IMO be the canary in the coal mine so...

With Central Banks now openly buying stocks, how can the Bull end?

That's a good point. These things almost always go on longer than one would expect. Timing is everything. It could too next week, next year or in 5 years we just don't know. I'm watching Japan closely and if junk bonds start to head south following commodities that would be a big warning sign

With Central Banks now openly buying stocks, how can the Bull end?

A tipping point if you will. Lacy Hunt refers to it as the "bang point".

Working 60 hours a week or working 2 hours a day?

Keep the odds in your favor, IMO. Keep your job and continue to trade part time or trade longer time frames. I am somewhere between an investor and a swing trader and I work full-time. I will guarantee you that I make more than 97% of the "traders" on here because I have a job and trade...

With Central Banks now openly buying stocks, how can the Bull end?

You don't think that stocks as an asset class are inter-connected to other asset classes such as gold, bond, cash, etc?

Who Else Offers Some Free ETF Trading?

Vanguard offers many ETF's with no trading fee, but not leveraged. I don't know of any brokerage that offers leveraged ETF's. TDameritrade offers free trading on over 100 ETF's but again, no leveraged products.

With Central Banks now openly buying stocks, how can the Bull end?

I tend to agree with this. I can't claim to know all the answers when it comes to global financial markets, currencies and Central Bank activities, but my gut tells me that you can only delay pain for so long before the piper gets paid. One way or another, it's going to happen. I tend to...

With Central Banks now openly buying stocks, how can the Bull end?

To the original question, I don't know how long it can go, but it's going to end badly when it does. It just doesn't pass the smell test that you can print and QE all you want with no ramifications.

Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

No, I would say that low to mid six figures/yr is a decent living considering most of the people on this site live with their parents and haven't made that much in their entire life.

Pissing match aside, I have a buddy that does make low to mid 6-figures trading retail forex out of his house.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Of course. Liberals cannot say what they really wish to do in most circumstances, as it wouldn't be looked upon favorably by the public. Instead they use emotional catch phrases and poll tested words to describe laws that sound favorable to the uninformed voter. Then after the law is...
