Bush news conferance. what a sad delusional out of touch man.

Firstly, people act like the entire fate of the US is determined by one man. There is a hell of a lot more to our political system then just the President. Have you seen ANY improvement in your life since the Dems took over congress TWO years ago? Secondly, that guy had a very tough hand...

    Firing Freeze

Where do you think supply comes from? Where do you think demand comes from? Maybe I should have reversed that, because demand forms first, then supply, but the fact is without jobs, you have much less demand, which means less jobs. And if you don't think the economy is driven by...

    DOW 2000-levels ($60 trillion loss)

Another condescending, doomsday conspiracy theorist, who can see the future because he "knows what the sheeple will never understand". You've bumped your own thread more times than others have even responded to it. You've posted the exact same $60T = 500m jobs calculations probably no less...

'Atlas Shrugged': From Fiction to Fact in 52 Years

He has an 80% lifetime rating from the Council for Citizens Against Goverment Waste, which compares very favorably to the vast majority of Congressmen. Your average Democrat has around a 20% rating.

Reaver, Is "Day Trading" by Joe Ross, only about day trading, or would it be a worth while purchase for longer term trading?

Dirty little secret no one is talking about...

As far as production of these things go, human capital will become increasingly less important, most likely. Manufacturing will become more localized, as labor costs are reduced due to automation/robotics. Humans will continue to displaced toward the service sector, IMO.

Dirty little secret no one is talking about...

I would not be at all surprised to see that happen in the next 20 years. In fact, I'm not sure there is another option other than hyperinflation and that would not be good for anyone.

Dirty little secret no one is talking about...

It's mind boggling I agree, but for now countries (and others) are buying our debt. It will be interesting to see, how this slowdown affects China. If it gets ugly over there, they won't have the ability to constantly buy our debt. Then the question becomes, do other countries take over...

'Atlas Shrugged': From Fiction to Fact in 52 Years

You just put 200 or so words in my mouth that I did not say or write. I am a Ron Paul supporter, because he advocates fiscal discipline. I am not a "FED is the root of all evil" person. I do think the Fed can be managed solidly. I never indicated any political blame although you...

    Why don't Americans save?

sandybestdog, It's very obvious that you will find an excuse or reason to fail for all possible suggestions, so it's pretty pointless continuing this thread, in regards to you. Keep on doing what you're doing, as it sounds like you've got it figured out better than any of us. Best of luck.

You can't blame Greenspan's abject failure as Fed head, on anyone other than Greenspan himself.

'Atlas Shrugged': From Fiction to Fact in 52 Years

Yes, that's what salespeople do. They sell and that's what banks do, they lend. If banks are able to get cheap money for several years and that cheap money is borrowed and used to speculate on a realestate market that keeps going up and up and up............you create a bubble. When that...

'Atlas Shrugged': From Fiction to Fact in 52 Years

Exact opposite, my friend. We're in this mess due to artificially low rates for many years, and goverment forcing banks to lend to people that couldn't afford to pay back mortgages. It's that simple. Easy credit over borrowing got us to where we are and that is the fault of big goverment...

Breaking News...Ponzi Scheme One Thousand Times Larger Than Madoff Scheme Uncovered!!

Hey dumbfuck. Wait until the US goverment socializes our healthcare, which will mean the Pharm and Device companies will no longer be able to meet your price controls. Once we are no longer subsidizing your HC, it will affect your taxes my man. Also, it's a good thing you can put a $10m/yr...

    Who destroyed world economy?

Keynesian economics can probably work well, but there is not a goverment on earth that is disciplined enough to manage this process efficiently and effectively. I don't think Keynes would advocated spending like madmen during the good times, to the point where deficits are unmanagable. Now...

You guys aren't going to believe me but...

Central Midwest and Plains could hold in there ok, with AG. The world/US still NEEDS food. Not talking booming here, but holding in there. Also, RE is faily well priced there, so less fall out from housing prices.
