US Equity Markets will not go down

You mean "laissez-faire"? If you do, then your statement is an oxymoron as the definition of laissez-faire is to allow the markets to work unimpeded. That is the opposite of what the Fed is about.

Any chance IB could be acquired?

I think he still has fire in the belly and if he takes care of himself, he's still got a few more decades in him. I think the chances are extremely small.

    Airlines - a short?

I agree that shorting USAir is not that smart but what does being a goog company have to do with shorting JBLU? Like people didn't say Enron was 'a good company' before? I'm not equating them but just pointing out that it irrelevant. I trade off charts not off reputations. Take a look at the...

Best Prop Firm At This Point In Time

    Airlines - a short?

I'm looking at the airline sector (both regional, major and foreign) and there are some really great shorts setting up. Coupled with, what I think to be, a toppy market, this could be interesting. Specifically, I'm looking at PNCL, XJT, JBLU, DNT, AMR, FRNT, NWAC, DAL, among others. Any...

BIDU - ipo day trading stories

I just stumbled on www.waxiespickstothemoon.com on Friday and happened to catch a few trades that on paper made me richer than the Sultan of Brunei. Waxie is the best!

Are we heading for a 1914-style collapse?

Thanks for posting that. Everytime an economist/historian says something about the stock market, do the opposite. Anyone remember Didier Sornette and his 'crash' predictions in 2003? The fact that he was getting so much attention and even published a book was the biggest sign to go long...

http://www.decisionpoint.com/ChartSpotliteFiles/050729_200ema.html I agree, I think the late Jul 2005 was a correction top and we've headed down for a bit.

    Is IB kidding?

I think the structure for IB is really fair. If you don't generate $30/month (15 RT) you shouldn't really be with IB any way. BTW you get charged the $10/month even if you don't sub to any mkt data. Its their way of nicely telling you to go somewhere else.

    Market Trends

Yeah, I brought it up on the AD thread: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53092&perpage=6&pagenumber=2 NASDAQ AD line has been declining steadily, as the composite has been rising. That doesn't dovetail with his thesis (see above thread post 1) It is rather obvious...

    Writing options for a living

Guys, can you pick this apart? Or is it solid? Is it that the probability for the two scenarios are not equal? That is to say, there is more of a chance in a change of volatility than a change the same magnitute in the underlying? I'm just guessing this because intuitively I think the...
