    Jokes

http://www.trendax.com/ Make sure you go through the flash version and press all the buttons on the bottom (turn up your sound to hear the audio fx). I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Man, oh man... [the site is Kimble's creation. He is an ego with legs who pretended he was a...

    Crash or Bottom?

Just based on breadth and other technicals the market is not near a bottom of any kind. Personally, I would be very surprised if we start rallying on Monday (or anytime next week without a nice flush down first). Just an opinion.

    IB Suggestions & Improvements

re charts, I would offer this macro view: Either make them kickass (comparable or better than what is out there) or drop them completely. This may mean unbundling it and charging separately for it (if you decide to go the kickass route).

    IB Suggestions & Improvements

Another idea would be to have some more turorials re the new and advanced features (VAR, option combos, etc.). Runningbear, could you be a bit more specific re book trader? Also, someone mentioned that TWS sucks way too much processing/ram. I'm not sure how much of this is attributed to...

    Black Monday

I know what you mean but as traders we have a job to do. Kinda reminds me of the story re Chernobyl in Liar's Poker. While most people were freaking out about the crisis the Artful Dodger was busy going long potato futures. That's what traders do.

    What is considered a trade?

Technically you can decide 'who' you want to trade with. I mean, if there is a bid you can hit it. One could argue that you decided to sell to the person who was buying X shares at Y ask. But you could sit at the bid/ask or enter your own bid/ask splitting the spread. This would then be...

Almost right. If you follow the money to its final destination it would be OPEC and non-OPEC countries. A lot of very happy Sheikhs and Mullahs.

    What is considered a trade?

Your question is really very simple and basic - don't worry we were all there at one time (were'nt we?). Please contact IB directly and they'll set you straight. help@interactivebrokers.com Wait, I think I get your Q. Are you asking what happens if you enter, lets say a buy for 500 shares...

    MRK option play

What do you guys think about a play along these line: When a stock, in this case I'll use MRK as an example, takes a dump on bad news that doesn't really affect their future...especially if they are well capitalized ... you sell long dated puts at a price slightly below LT support. In MRKs...

    Oil Getting Crushed...

Arnie, the points brought up previously deal with this question: what if we suddenly find ourselves in a situation where China's demand falls off? Even a small decline in China will have a huge effect on world demand/supply. No one knows if/when this may happen. But no one can dispute that it is...

    IB Suggestions & Improvements

FWIW you can customize colour in charts when you're using IB's web based platform. I don't know why this functionality exists there and not in the installed version. In any case, its clear the chart portion of IB has lots of room for improvement.

    IB Suggestions & Improvements

I agree, the caveat I mentioned was so that it wouldn't deteriorate into a bashing thread. Some great ideas so far guys. Please keep them coming (I esp. like the double click to get graph). Another suggestion would be to implement some of BracketTrader's functionalities. I'm having...
