I would be careful with gold stocks. I'm not at all bullish on them right now, some of have cracked and others are wobbling on support. XAU broke the 50 day MA today. Also Kass started shorting them last week which raised a red flag for me. A very loud bell was ringing for those listening...

Thanks Robert. I think that is what has perpetuated the myth probably. Reporters/writers who don't understand bullets but somehow pick up on the unusual way it lets you short stocks. That must be it.

This sounds cool but there was something even cooler than 802.11b mentioned in Red Herring (current edition). It is a technology used right now by the military on the field and it is really cheap. Check out the article.

northcascades, maybe I'm missing something but of what value is trading around an option position when you could simply be trading? (especially when you are holding a wasting asset: call option with time value) In either case your result is determined by the difference in what you paid...

I know that market makers can sell short naked (sell without first borrowing) but I've heard that some how, offshore hedge funds can do this also. Would anyone with knowledge of this please care to comment? Is this a Wall Street myth or what? [thanks]
