    QM volume

LOL! Not at all. Just satisfied with QM, but noticing the volume differential...wanting to know if I'm giving anything up if I trade CL over the screen. OldTrader

    QM volume

Is there any difference in speed of execution between CL and QM? Thanks OldTrader

A stop is already like a MIT order. A stop becomes a market order when your price is "touched". Maybe I missed your point. OldTrader

    Jasper's Last Stand

Frankly I wonder how you determined that the "system" has no edge. What is the "system"? I found it interesting today to hear Jim Simmons talk about his techniques over the years in general. He mentioned how much the market changes, the techniques that were working well at one time, start...

    Anybody own a house?

I own quite a few small rental properties, and have for years. I don't know about being a "bad ass", but I definitely think you have to be business like. I have personally never rented to Section 8 tenants. I figured these were the least responsible people in the tenant pool, and when I...

    Jim Rogers, not so bright?

Let's see...he used to be "savvy" until his opinion diverged from "skippupwood". What a riot!:D And your track record is? OldTrader

    IB BookTrader not updating??

I use the standalone version Build 865.7 Java Version 10. I use Booktrader every day, and have since just after IB introduced it. I have had very few problems with it. The one problem I have at the moment is when opening TWS, market depth and booktrader also open. Size in booktrader gets...

    Hidden Fees in IB

Now that you mention it, that's what I thought too...although I couldn't find it on the site. Either way, 7 futures contracts does it, or 6000 shares traded over the course of a month. OldTrader

    Hidden Fees in IB

As I understand it, you don't need to trade 10 times. You need to generate $10 in commission. Obviously, you could generate that in one trade if you traded 2000 shares. Or, one trade if you traded 3 futures contracts. OldTrader

    Ensign: Comments Please...

If memory serves I started using Ensign just over 2 years ago. I monitor 100 symbols on quote pages. At most though I'm going to have open perhaps 5 charts at any one time. I do open and close charts throughout the day. I'm running 1 Gig memory at this time. No problems doing what I do...

    Ensign: Comments Please...

Prof: How long has it been since you used Ensign? I ask because the information you just put out is bogus. Auto refresh? It's a global setting. Just takes a check mark in a box for it. Memory issues? I've not had the problem at all. Never needed to reboot, even once. Not sure...

    Ensign: Comments Please...

I'm a current Ensign user, a former ESignal user. You bring your own datafeed in a sense. If you're bring a real time data feed then your data will be real time. I use a number of "quote pages" in my current layout. A quote page is in essence a window with a list of symbols. You can...

    Frank Quattrone plans comeback

I'd say everything IS fine and dandy in the good ole USA. You're still innocent here until proven guilty in a court of law. Now perhaps you believe that personal opinion and innuendo are enough to find guilt. I hear that works well in some parts of the world...just not those with a code of...

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

I understand your point. Of course, when and if the market does turn, it begins with the lower time frames. By the time the monthly turns down we could be considerably lower. To me, some judicious top/bottom picking allows somewhat closer stops. Although I do agree with you in terms of...

    ES Journal Archive (2006 - 2008)

Alot depends on how we close the day out, but in my opinion, technically, based on the daily chart, we had a false breakout to the upside, that could be the first sign of a double top. Confirmation of that would be a break of the early January lows. We've already had a false breakout on the...

    An American Hero

I see you have given the same non-argument, rather than to address any of the issues mentioned. Perhaps this just an argument technique. I'll take it as such. But do yourself a favor sometime. Review the Nuremberg trials. Take a look at how many "soldiers" were involved in them. The...
