Here's a revelation for you: I responded to a post. There was no reason to respond to YOUR post since no one could possibly know the answer, including you. LOL. The tread itself is complete BS. That said, you coulda made money trading his reports on Ambac.
OldTrader
Good point. In fact, had you gone long on his report last Friday, and got out when he said it hit some snags, you did very, very well. Investigate that.
Of course on EliteTrader, no one listens to CNBC. LOL!
OldTrader
Completely wrong. Like the blind leading the blind.
Checking "customer" or "firm" has nothing to do with how your order is entered. You would check "firm" if you are a "firm" trading for other customers. You're not a firm, you're a customer.
Orders that you send are either sent to the...
How you going to get twice the interest if it's truly in a money market???? LOL. Ridiculous. Say, Citibank didn't shift some mortgages into your account did they?
OldTrader
No joab, the chart does not "cut through all the hype and nonsense". The chart simply shows the percentage debt is of the GNP. And this is hardly the measure of the "worst President ever-Economically".
In fact, your post, and title of this thread simply shows your lack of knowledge about US...
Somehow I doubt that Zell would disagree that he's been lucky. In fact, I would imagine that most billionaires would describe themselves as lucky. But let's face it, you don't make billions by luck alone. Zell is the smart money when it comes to real estate.
By the way, in his interview he...
When Carter took office inflation had wound down under Ford following the wage and price controls. It was around 5%. Under Carter it roughly tripled over the course of the next 4 years. Then there was the interest rates over 20%. LOL. Yeah, he "inherited" it. LOL.
Again, if you don't...
Just thought I'd mention, this must not be the whole story because there are mutual funds who both margin and sell short. He's a link to the prospectus on Ken Heebner's Focus Fund, which does both:

I think most funds stay near fully invested these days. I'd say the reasoning is that if you didn't want to invest in stocks, you'd sell the fund. In other words, how would you feel if you invested in a muitual fund thinking you were getting some exposure to stocks, the market then goes up...
Nixon initiated wage and price controls when inflation was 4%. By the time he was drummed out of office, the inflation rate had tripled....12%.
And I think you know, or should know, that George Bush doesn't control "money-pump inflation". That would be the Fed.
But I notice you don't...
OK, so last week, and since last Monday was a bank holiday, then the money allegedly appeared Tuesday or later, perhaps without a reference number. Maybe not as quick as you would like, but not exactly malfeasance on IB's part.
OldTrader
So I gather that you base your opinion as to the "worst economic president" solely on national debt as a percentage of GDP?
Evidently you guys don't remember Jimmy Carter eh? I think he could easily have been the worst I have seen in my lifetime. Shows up well on your chart. Yet during his...
If Citi just received the funds "early this week" (meaning yesterday Monday), then how could IB have done their part any quicker? What am I missing here?

If you mean like a warning sound of some type, I don't think it exists. But the pending page tab turns red when there's a pending order. That's a warning if you look.
When I exit I always take a look at my account page to see what positions it shows, and my pending page to see if there are...
That's what I thought. All hat and no cattle. That's an old Texas saying.
By the way, given the overwhelming probability that most economists are wrong in their predictions, what makes you so confident that what you learned in "University" is correct? LOL.
What country did you take...
Tell ya what genius, why don't you just step forward and explain to us all in Econ 101 terms what is wrong with my statement. And while you're at it genius, what country are you from, and what are your country's economic accomplishments? In Econ 101 terms.
