IB: how to cancel trade permission of given market

I haven't done it, but I suppose the question that occurs to me is all you really need to do is cancel the data subscription, since it's possible that some of these might cost money. You said you can do that. But what difference does it make if you cancel your permission to trade that market...

    IB Secure Device

Yawn. I didn't say that I enjoyed it so much. I said "It's easy to use, and it provides additional safety.". But thanks for clarifying that the device is not convenient for you. LOL. OldTrader

    IB Secure Device

Perhaps you could give us all some reason as to WHY this device "sucks". I've been using this device since it first became available to wire money, and later since it was required to log into the system in general. It's easy to use, and it provides additional safety. OldTrader

Is Raid 0 worthwhile for day-to-day trading?

I have RAID-0. I don't think it makes any difference. If it does it's so small you can't tell. If I had it to do over again, I would probably use RAID-1. It supposedly slows things down somewhat, but I doubt you could detect it, and it would be a good safety feature. OldTrader

Horrible experience:IB cost me $50,000 this morning

I think Derek hit the nail on the head.... there's a limit of 50 messages per second. http://individuals.interactivebrokers.com/en/p.php?f=programInterface&ib_entity=llc But what gets me is what did you do for the next hour while you waited? My suggestion: READ all the documentation...

3/11/08 Video: "Dear Jim Cramer, should I sell Bear Stearns?"

Man, you gotta be nuts! LOL! They are running 100-1 against me, and you're gonna come out and agree with me? The only guys agreeing with me so far are the guys sending me PMs but NOT posting here on the thread. LOL. I agree with your point #4. I'm sure he would have been bullish had he...

3/11/08 Video: "Dear Jim Cramer, should I sell Bear Stearns?"

Yeah, the chances are huge that Cramer didn't understand the potentially catastrophic nature of BSC. As I mentioned earlier, last Friday Bear had a conference call which I attended, and which would have really upset you guys if this Cramer thing upsets you. During that call, the CEO Swartz was...

3/11/08 Video: "Dear Jim Cramer, should I sell Bear Stearns?"

No intent to leave it out. But by the way, it was right around that time that I heard Swartz, the CEO, say they were not in trouble. In fact, I think it was after that. You know, I listened in on the conference call that Bear put on Friday, well after the Cramer comments. They had it all...

3/11/08 Video: "Dear Jim Cramer, should I sell Bear Stearns?"

I'm not sure what a guy who owned the stock would feel after hearing that comment. The comment "Don't move your money from Bear" just seems to say he's still referring to an account. If he was referring to the stock, why doesn't he just say "Don't sell that stock"? Or press one of those...

3/11/08 Video: "Dear Jim Cramer, should I sell Bear Stearns?"

I can't begin to guess why Cramer didn't go into SIPC. But it goes without saying that if the company goes bankrupt, your money is going to be tied up a while, maybe quite a while, SIPC or no. And then too, if your funds exceed SIPC, then the situation becomes a different matter completely...

3/11/08 Video: "Dear Jim Cramer, should I sell Bear Stearns?"

OK, so the bottom line is that the staff at TheStreet.com placed BSC on a list with a buy recommendation on 3/11. This is from Harrold's video. So in other words, the staff puts it there, not Cramer. Now, since you guys like to make things up, let me do the same. Suppose the staff saw...

3/11/08 Video: "Dear Jim Cramer, should I sell Bear Stearns?"

You missed my point. And frankly, it's not worth the effort to go back through this with you one more time. If you're interested, just re-read my posts. It's clear though that you have no ability to accurately READ or LISTEN, and then draw an appropriate conclusion. Just change everything...

3/11/08 Video: "Dear Jim Cramer, should I sell Bear Stearns?"

You mean a "fact" like this: In this "fact" we take the word "liquidity", change the meaning, then change what he said. LOL! Or perhaps you mean a "fact" like this: In this fact we "assume" who had an account, what type of person he was, and whether he would call Cramer for an...

3/11/08 Video: "Dear Jim Cramer, should I sell Bear Stearns?"

I can't say whether Cramer recommended BSC at some point. I don't watch the show, and don't pay much attention to Cramer one way or the other. I'm only referring to the video. In the video, I don't think he recommended the stock. That's my opinion. I also don't have a clue as to who or...

Bear up 300% from bid price - proof Fed panicked and defrauded

Here's an interesting aspect of the deal that I hadn't read before. From the Wall Stree Journal: "In addition to its option to purchase Bear's headquarters building, J.P. Morgan has the option to purchase just under 20% of Bear Stearns's shares at a price of $2 each. That feature gives J.P...

3/11/08 Video: "Dear Jim Cramer, should I sell Bear Stearns?"

No, I'm not sticking to a frame of reference. I'm sticking to what was actually said, and what was printed in their box on the left of the video. YOU on the other hand are citing what someone could have known, might have known, perhaps should have known, a chart that was not referred to and...
