    IB-standalone version?

Maybe something is wrong with your screen resolution. Here's what my screen looks like: By the way, there's alot of blurring and breaking up in the screenshot. My TWS is clear...this has to do with something in this site. Oops, nevermind, just click on the download.

    IB-standalone version?

I downloaded 884.3 the other day. No problems so far. I like the colors. Using Java 1.5. Using XP Pro on a Dual core machine. OldTrader Edit: By the way, my search function is well up out of the way. Not sure what the problem is with that. Nothing even close to it on my screen.

    Quitting Trading

By the way, one final point to the OP. I've been a successful trader now for decades. I trade the ES. Once in a while I trade the NQ. I may have traded YM a couple of times. And I've never traded the ER2. I watch them all. I don't trade them other than the ES. I don't pick what I trade...

    Quitting Trading

I would never argue against experience. I've got plenty of it...the hard way. My point about the journal is that Buy1Sell2 shows his methology in there. All you gotta do is read the journal. This guy seems reluctant to put the time in to "discover" exactly where that is within all those...

    Quitting Trading

You'd think if you're truly interested in some success, you would simply start reading through the journal. You got something else to do? OldTrader

Why trade ES if SPY is much cheaper?

You've been given some thoughts on various things you may have missed. But here's another one: Ever watched the SPY and the ES trade side by side? What you'll notice is that SPY can move around slightly while ES does nothing. To me that indicates that the spread in SPY is not really $.01...

Warren Buffet wall to wall CNBC. Guy is a jerk.

Let's put it this way. Simple common sense would dictate that if we increase the capital gains rate to 90%, very few are going to be intererested in making long term investments. So when you say there would be little difference between 15% and 24%, you are now making claim that YOU know what...

Warren Buffet wall to wall CNBC. Guy is a jerk.

Ridiculous. The lower the rate on capital gains, the more incentive there is to invest money for the long term. Long term investment is the seed corn of any economy, the end result of which is more jobs. You want to see it evaporate, just start raising the capital gain tax. I'm not for...

Trade $5K to a new career

I'm guessing 116 trades might be difficult to post on the chart. What do you think? That said, you don't need a chart to know that there was no good set of reasons, technical or otherwise, to make 116 trades. If a method generated them (I doubt this), the method is faulty. OldTrader

    Antivirus advice urgently needed....

OK, I misunderstood. I just have the anit-virus software. I have it turned on. But I could set to perform the detailed scan to take place at a particular time that was convenient for me. I also have a anti-spyware software, which I use manually. OldTrader

    Antivirus advice urgently needed....

I've been using AVG now for several years on 3 computers, to include my trading computer. No problems of the type you describe. I might add you can set the time for the virus scan to work. It doesn't have to be when you boot up. You can also stop the scan if it occurs at a time when you...

I should have listened, IB is indeed a joke.

Midnight: In your posts in this thread you have used adjectives to describe IB, or their actions, like: brutal, unethical, immoral, irresponsible, force, and flawed. This in a situation where you actually knew very little, except what the OP said in an emotional outburst. Evidently it...

You know really Midknight...if your'e going to comment, at least know what you're talking about. In this case, you don't. This security program is not mandatory. He can opt out. Evidently he didn't. IB has a procedure for handling this when the security device is not received. The...

I should have listened, IB is indeed a joke.

No I'm not saying you can't call customer service. Except they're closed...as YOU said. You can call them tomorrow morning. In the meantime, you're out of service. But the next problem is that when you call, how do they know it's you? They take this security stuff seriously. I really...

I should have listened, IB is indeed a joke.

As has been said before, your account can be enabled if you don't have the security card. But now you created yourself another problem. No account number? You mean you never received a notice of an account statement? Never kept something from opening that had the number? Geezuz. Yeah...
