I just wondered if Volente was making a trade, since what he posts seems to be very vague. In this case, he posted a question. I would think that even commentary could be clearer. That said, I'd love to see how this 10 point thing works. I don't think it does unless the data is...

OK, covered the other half of my short ES at 1355.25 for just over 10 points profit. So 5 on half, 10 on the other half. Will look at it again tomorrow. OldTrader

Of course, they also got rebates, which may have affected retail sales. OldTrader

For ease of follow-up, I'm short equal amounts of ES at 1364 and 1367. So I'm going to combine them at 1365.50. Again, stop is 1379.00. OldTrader

With a $6K account I wouldn't be trading anything more than 1 contract. OldTrader

    Kirk and F, senile?

Let me know when either of you guys have $40mm. In the meantime, Kirkorian is worth $16Billion+......$40mm is pocket change to him. OldTrader

Ignore news and trade purely technical?

I think being aware of the news is quite important. Take this morning for example. Pending home sales comes out, suprises on the upside. The market shrugs the news off, and turns lower after an initial burst higher. This is as good as it gets: the market is telling you it's headed...

The chances are high that I've been trading without any hand-holding for longer than you are old. But in the meantime, you got plenty of time to make innumerable worthless posts, yet you don't have time to make a post of a real time trade. LOL! My guess is, not only are you a paper trader...

Was there a real time posting of this trade? Of course not. LOL. Another paper trade. In the meantime, no, I did not go long. I'll let you know when I do in a real time post. OldTrader

Ridiculous. No one is going to go after a few contracts. Now, if you're one of those guys who's trading with a 1-3 point type of stop (I don't know if you are or not), then you're bound to be hit frequently just because of noise. But if you're truly that paranoid, just post a wide stop...
