    Minimum Wage ... Unbelivable?

All this from an increase in the minimum wage in Britain???? LOL! Can you tell me when the last industrial or business achievement took place in Britain??? I mean hasn't Britain been in general decline for decades now? I'd hate to pattern anything after Britain. OldTrader

    Minimum Wage ... Unbelivable?

I hear your points Pabst...but I'm tired already....develop transportation, innovative child care options, alcohol and drug abuse programs, job training....whew! Tell you what...it sounds easier to just outsource the jobs to India! LOL! What's minimum wage in India? Anyone? OldTrader

    Minimum Wage ... Unbelivable?

Incidental???? LOL! Policies that encourage opportunity and success are hardly "incidental"...and it then follows that the economic and industrial achievements occur where those policies exist. Hello???? When policies exist that take from the producers of a country, to give to the...

    Minimum Wage ... Unbelivable?

Excellent post. I did some business one time with a Vietnamese immigrant who at the time had 3 jobs, all at or near minimum wage. I was selling him a property I owned. He had managed to save up $10K to put down out of these 3 jobs. Never saw a prouder guy when he closed on buying his...

    Minimum Wage ... Unbelivable?

Can anyone tell me what the latest economic and/or business achievements in New Zealand are? LOL! How about Australia? The history of the US is that it "was" the land of opportunity. The idea was not to guarantee a "minimum" wage. It was to give the opportunity to achieve whatever you...

IB Made an Error. Will They Fix It?

If my posts "say" something about me, I'm OK with that. I expect the way I handle myself, and the words I use, to reflect me. In the end all we can do is "judge" others based on what they say and do. That said, let me make another point here. There was a time when assignments weren't known...

IB Made an Error. Will They Fix It?

The truth is I agree with IDS....if you don't know what you're doing you shouldn't be doing it. Now, whether he should have siad it or not, I couldn't say from a customer service standpoint since I am not in customer service (if you couldn't tell).:p But the bottom line is it's the truth...

IB Made an Error. Will They Fix It?

I think you need to quit beating that customer service drum. It looks to me like part of the problem here was your own lack of understanding of the product that you trade. Customer service was giving you the right answer, but you could hardly "hear" it given your various complaints. As I said...

IB Made an Error. Will They Fix It?

I have "heard" the same thing. The thing is, the few times I have had the need to contact customer service I have never "experienced" it. I think it is a load of crap. OldTrader

IB Made an Error. Will They Fix It?

I'm not sure why you expect anyone to be able to tell you what the problem is when you obviously don't give all the details necessary to know. You leave some of the keys out like how much cash was there in the beginning, how many spreads at what debit did, and what the legs of those spreads are...

Is anybody actually getting filled by TIMBER?

All I can do is give my experience. Why don't you give yours, instead of worrying about whether I'm "blowing smoke"? In fact, I gotta wonder why you seem to be so prone to believing everyone except me. Have you seen me prone to lying somewhere? Maybe they make money overall...versus on...

How Jim Rogers performed during the Internet Bubble?

First, I don't know, and I know you don't know. But as a follower of Jim Rogers for years, I can tell you that he is not a short term trader. Many times he is early, but he is willing and able to hold a position for years as it comes to fruition. So that chances are that if he was short...

How Jim Rogers performed during the Internet Bubble?

Doesn't one generally sell his house to move? LOL! Perhaps you could explain to us where you found out that he is "having to sell his house to fund a move to china", as opposed to simply selling his house because he is moving. OldTrader

Is anybody actually getting filled by TIMBER?

I don't trade stocks all the time, but when I do I get quite a few trades with TMBR. Frankly, it would be interesting to see what they are doing with these trades, but I'd say they're losing their ass. Knowing who they are I've tried to figure out what they're doing, and the best I can...

    Disillusioned

It should be interesting to see what type of responses you get. You seem to be saying a couple of different things: 1) There is no holy grail. Yep, I agree, there isn't a holy grail. Or put it this way, if there is, I have not discovered it either. Yet I've been trading for nearly...

    Cuban's "Sharesleuth"

There are many, many examples of newsletters where the principals have positions in stocks that they talk about. One prominent one is Jim Cramers letter. But as always, the law depends on all the details...and we don't know all the details in the case you mention. Put it this way....Cuban...

    Cuban's "Sharesleuth"

Doubt that's true at all...perhaps you heard it wrong. Think about it...mutual funds take positions all the time and then talk about them on the news media. The key is disclosure. There is no requirement in the law that once you take a position that you keep mum. OldTrader
