    Bond Yield Data

what broker do you use? You can just add the bonds as tickers and observe the yield in real time. if you're not on a platform you can look for an index of the yield, which I believe can be found on the FRED website. Market Yield on U.S. Treasury Securities at 10-Year Constant Maturity (DGS10)...

    Theories on the current bloodbath?

Fed is speeding up its timetable to remove liquidity and raise interest rates. Risk assets, especially long duration stuff like crypto, get whacked during this phase.

Is this sell off only the beginning ?

sure, but at that point you’re just betting on momentum either way

Is this sell off only the beginning ?

P = fcf / r - g Ceteris paribus if r rises then P falls. Violence and depth of the move is based upon positioning, asset/sector rotation, and subsequent data. Fed started down this path in December, and meeting minutes were incrementally more hawkish. If you pay attention and understand basic...

Reconsidering my Dell UltraSharp 49 Curved Monitor - U4919DW

Stick with 22' or 24' 1080p monitors. No need for anything fancy, because the natural breaks in the screen will help you stay more organized. My setup:

Something is wrong with this downdraft.

This isn’t total liquidation, it is asset and sector rotation. The feds meeting minutes were more hawkish than expected, implying a greater chance of a rate hike in March along with a faster balance sheet run off. These factors impact the market multiple that stocks trade at— the multiple is...

Where is a FOMC meeting schedule ?

Today wasn’t a meeting, it was the release of the meeting minutes from the Dec 15 meeting.

Can you be an FX trader?

The group that put up the game just hasn’t updated the site certificate. You can still access it if you click on “advance settings” and “proceed anyway”… you don’t need to make an account to play the game. Anyway I’m not a web expert so caveat emptor.

Can you be an FX trader?

hmm while I can see how that can be fun, I don't actually like that style because you don't learn the risk management aspect of trading (changing size). Try running the FX game on a chrome browser -- I think you'll see how different it is.

Can you be an FX trader?

Came across this FX simulator and it's incredibly fun and good. I used to be a trader at an investment bank (market maker in g10 fx and rates) and I gotta say, this is pretty accurate. Enjoy! Trading Simulator (astutefx.co.uk)

    Is this a good value??

No. if you were to subscribe to something, I'd take a strong look at FT if you trade US + Int'l or WSJ if you're just trading the US. Nothing you read will give you an edge, but it will keep you informed as to what is happening on the street, in the economy, and policy (monetary & fiscal).

This weeks trading can be deceiving

Volumes are usually weak this time of year. Don’t read that much into it.

If Technical Analysis doesn’t work, how do you define a bull market?

Read Daniel Kahneman — lots of heuristics people use to make sense of the world lead to sub-optimal decision making.

If Technical Analysis doesn’t work, how do you define a bull market?

What type of market we are in only impacts your pnl 1:1 if you’re taking on simple beta. That means you’re not taking active risk.

If Technical Analysis doesn’t work, how do you define a bull market?

A bull market just means prices are rising. It’s not a prediction about the future. Markets are semi-strong firm efficient, which means very little excess returns from analyzing historical data (technical OR fundamental!). Modern technical analysis used at CTAs and hedge funds revolves around...

how do you make sense of seasonal market trends?

I think I've said this before, but you are pretty much just long momentum stocks. There's nothing particularly impressive about that, and how you go from ~X in your universe to the 7-8 you hold includes a lot of intermediary steps...if I list all the stocks that meet your criteria ("ath, rising...
