    IEX spreads seem very wide.

The IEX is displaying the NBBO, the same as the other ECN's. Maybe look into using 'primary peg' type orders to get better fills.

    Research on day trading

The study was in 2004 - that is right before HFT's exploded onto the scene. Note how they talk about how much volume day traders generate - these days the HFT generate the vast majority of volume. Pre 2004 you traded mostly with another human, a highly skill trader could often take the bid-ask...

Trump's nice people threatens to 'burn' black Latina journalist and calls her a 'n*****'

Get real - even Trumps own generals are repulsed by his escalating insanity as is the CEO's on his stupid panel which was just a publicity stunt for Trump. Trump is trying to take the country back to the 20's. Anyone above brain dead can see trump is a mental wreck - a catholic liar that can...

When did IB institute this 100k minimum to earn interest

Fidelity is the only other retail broker I know of that also pays a cash sweep/interest - just a little bit lower than IB, without a minimal balance required.

Trump's nice people threatens to 'burn' black Latina journalist and calls her a 'n*****'

Trumps father was arrested in a KKK klan brawl with cops in Queens 1927. http://all-that-is-interesting.com/donald-trump-father-arrested-kkk-rally Donald Trump insisted a group of black teens released from prison when they were found conclusively not guilty of a murder of a white women should...

When did IB institute this 100k minimum to earn interest

Shorting has nothing to do with a cash sweep. You have to be in cash to earn interest.

Massachusetts regulator investigates trade order 'kickbacks'

Call it what you want - it's a fact. The news is a buzz with this very thing, the DOJ is investigating this. Fidelity does provide direct trading to some of the ECN's, not the IEX which is a good work-around if you can sit in front of your monitor when you want to enter/exit. Fidelity sent...

Massachusetts regulator investigates trade order 'kickbacks'

I put an order the other day on my 401k at Fidelity. A limit order to sell a position at a profit target. The order showed it was at Citadel - the enemy. The orders are supposed to be in the brokers in-house servers until the order price or condition is triggered. Lost any trust in that broker...

When did IB institute this 100k minimum to earn interest

The $100K balance qualifies you for a cash sweep which pays interest on your $ not in positions. On $100k you will get about $80 per month in interest, you will see an idle balance rise daily - except for weekends & holidays. There is a setting on your account you have to select to get the cash...

    web access real time charts

Check out 'investing.com'. Real-time global stocks/futures/forex. Great web site and their free android mobile app rivals those that you pay for. Their charting functions are pretty darn sophisticated and you can easily save and send them - not bad for free.

    Trading Futures completely tax free

While it is legal to trade futures and do all sorts of stuff inside your IRA, you are probably going to have a tax disaster. There is nothing in the IRS pub to draw such a wild conclusion. How can you have a tax disaster on non-taxed accounts - you don't even file a tax return for them. Maybe...

    Trading Futures completely tax free

A self directed IRA is where you have a custodian like Midland that allows you to invest in anything you like: gold bars, real estate, a business, race horse, a yacht for chartering, etc. IB & TDA are not SD IRA's. Imagine if Apple was started from a SD IRA, all the income would be tax free.

Every beach boardwalk arcade should have a back-testing machine, it is good for some laughs. They could call the machine 'Captain Hindsight'.

How do you rank as a trader?

How do you rank as a trader? Its been like a country song - first I got to much $ to fast. Than I got some very expensive addictions - than I went to the poor house and started all over. When your good days used to be into the 5 digits and now your living on $350 per week in a crappy job while...

    Rules for Drawing Trendlines

Logic has nothing to do with it. Price charts are a study of human behavior which never changes. A horizontal trend line on a stock back in 1927 is no different then it is today. Everything’s tested in historical markets. The past is a pretty good predictor of the future. It’s not perfect...

    Rules for Drawing Trendlines

Trend lines can be up/down sloping, horizontal, or curved. This is a hard fact written about since the 20's - not going to debate with idiots on this this subject.

    Rules for Drawing Trendlines

Why don't you look it up yourself or buy a book on it? Here is a post from Peter Brandt - he is one of the market wizards 5 decades of strict adherence to classic T.A. as defined by Richard Schabacker (1930's). Look at Twitter yourself - this is not altered. This pattern, as many do, depended...

    Rules for Drawing Trendlines

Obviously you know horizontal lines are not trend lines, right? Even when price is range bound. Horizontal TLs are considered trend lines per published books going back to the 20's written by the founder & masters of classic TA. Price can be congested/sideways, that is a trend. In fact a...

Markets Will Rise for Monday Open

I smell fear. Most traders cant even predict what they will do next. "Those who have knowledge don't predict. Those who predict don't have knowledge." -Lao Tzu, 6th Century BC.

Is it just me? Trade entry remorse

Trading small is best for frequent traders, trading large size is best for infrequent traders, those who wait and then slam it big time when all the ducks line up. You can blow just as fast if not faster going that route. Greed & fear is why most traders wash out. Trading big is plain old greed...
