Cis, the legendary Japanese day trader

On a more positive not about this trader which does sound credible to me - he did say he does not trade for money - he trades to win the game. He is a former computer gamer fanatic that has over 150 keyboard hotkeys memorized. I have heard other real big winners say the same, they don't think...

Put these charts on your wall for reference the next time you think… Something is “oversold”

If your profits from previous days are reinvested and you end up making profits going forward than yea, that would be compounding. However, you have 2 take into account trading costs which in day trading can be significant, your also faced with having to always buy in at higher prices for longs...

Cis, the legendary Japanese day trader

The so called day trader that claims to have made $34M on a swing trade - accumulating a short with 1,600 short futures contracts starting on Aug 12th & covering some time around Aug 28th. Once he had a profit he layered in more size. Just a plain old swing/momo trade garden variety - except...

Put these charts on your wall for reference the next time you think… Something is “oversold”

It kinda depends on how you look at it. If your account is increasing in value, you can buy more contracts to trade. If you hold it through another day and it continues to rise than your previous days profit will also be earning a profit, adding onto your profits from the current day - that...

Put these charts on your wall for reference the next time you think… Something is “oversold”

Short term trading whether days...a few weeks...or a day..an hour..or minutes has the potential to compound profits that longterm trading (months) cannot. Every PB is an opportunity for compounding. Hurst discusses these concepts. Compounding is the reinvestment of earnings over time. You do...

    Need 10:1 Leverage

People used to tell me when I was in my 30's the way I trade would give them a heart attack, now that I am in my 50's I say to you ' the way you trade would give me a heart attack'.

    Confused about Real-World Farmer's Commodities

The real beef that those producing the commodities have is with the CME & the predatory HFTs. Check out this letter sent to the SEC by the National Cattleman's association. From looking at this forum it does not seem like many trade the softs/agriculture products anyway. Besides we are the dumb...

Pharma Bro jailed after judge declares him a ‘danger to society’

He also gave half it away for $1, only those insured paid the full price. The # of people using that drug is extremely small and the lifetime cost is a lot lower than many other life saving drugs sold by big pharma. Some months back I scoured every Daraprim forum, not finding a single person...

how to check for volatile stocks

do you have a minimum ATR you look for to indicate enough potential movement ? I use the APTR mainly for quickly sizing up my exit if the trade goes against me. My own theory is equities have more risk than an ETF, looking for range about 2X or more of the SPY to make the trade worth the risk.

how to check for volatile stocks

I use APTR, which is the ATR in percentage. I run two columns of APTR - on is 5 days the other 20. This makes it real easy to see what the current and longer term avg volatility is.

Hurricane Irma Headed Straight For ET

Wow Bamboo keeling over - that stuff is bullet proof. I also have it growing in my yard. I wonder if anyone was buying airline tickets in bulk to price gouge the locals. Just by coincidence I had a ticket when hurricane Iniki (cat 4) hit Kauai & leveled it out back in the 80's, the airline...

Is penny stock day trading the most profitable in the market?

There is an old saying in poker 'If you can't spot the sucker at the table - your it". Penny stocks trade on an unregulated market, they do not report financials (pink sheets) - a lot of the companies are shells, in other words scams. You have to assume that someone can slam the price around...

effect of wash sale rule across multiple accounts

Here are three simple rules to keep in mind that can greatly reduce your risk of having some or all of your losses disallowed for the current tax year and deferred to a later tax year: If you take losses in December, don't buy back the same stock for 31 days. If you take losses in any stock...
