    Developing trading systems

judging from the time it takes TS to introduce portfolio testing... and speed up the backesting (amibroker is 50x faster...) it would take 15 years for their programmers to do it

    Developing trading systems

Take a look at the equity curve of one of my euro curr. futures system. Yes, it is traded live for over a year. But this fact totally does not matter! its still the same system, traded live or not. traded live without any prior out-of-sample or walk-forward testing. you can do the same...

    Developing trading systems

wow, the first thing i agree with intradaybill ;-) looking at gold, eurchf long term charts its very easy for simple trend following sys to make huge money. but it requires patience. most traders want to be rich next week trading with max leverage.

    Developing trading systems

this is what i've expected. most people on this thread will laugh and giggle about the 20 lines of code systems. i've seen "pro" traders with 20 yrs experience without the slightest clue about systematic trading. hedge fund managers, the same. some think backtesting is flawed by design...

    CHF breaking new records

USDCHF long term chart. http://stooq.pl/q/?s=usdchf&c=50y&t=l&a=ln&b=1 Dollar lost 80% of its value to CHF. nothing new under the sun. in next 5 years the rate will probably slide to 0.2

    Developing trading systems

From what i've learned over 10 years, the key to build successful trading systems is simplicity. Its precisely what people will avoid at all cost. Se Jack Hershey threads. The more complex method is, the more popular it is. And the more people lose trading it. Are your systems simple? Can be...

    Developing trading systems

Most people (about 98% ) expect 100% winning trades. If your system will have two losing trades in a row, you'll be percieved as very bad system developer. Are you sure you want to discuss such matters with the public?

Paulson fund looses another 10% in August on top of 22% loss at end of July

Yeah, but he is a professional. And he has a long term live track record, so large instit. will invest in his funds. Both qualities meaning big fat zero, if he does not use common sense.

After Greece, Spain, Ireland, Italy next is Poland

The rest of Europe has euro denominated debts. In Poland, many people took mortgages 2 years ago in CHF at 2.0-2.4 exchange rate to PLN. Now the CHFPLN rate is 3.90 almost 2x higher. No tourist income, no more donations from european union. Dagong Global Credit Rating downgraded Poland's...

    Economic End Game possibilities

trivia thinking. phony illness making health "care", prisons, police, TSA, and military spending are calculated into GDP. which represent the decrease in standards of living, not increase.

‘HFT is killing the emini’ S&P, says Nanex

Thanks , interesting article. I have no idea why so many firms love to jump into HFT where the competition can kill you. On top of hardware, software and exchange costs. Much easier to profit from huge vola on currencies, gold, crude oil. No, most traders will always choose the worst...

Methods for gaining muscle and losing fat

That is good advice. Increase protein intake at the cost of carbs. Baron, based on your current diet, i see few potential improvements: 1. change tuna, pork and chicken into more beef. beef has more zinc and more creatine. tuna has mercury. pork is bad since swines are fed total shit...
