    Wade Cook news...

Don I'm sure you have read some of my father's research on systems. I tend to agree with him. There are profitable systems being sold but the problem is they don't fit the trader who would be trading them. A lot of the systems sold were negative expectancy. They had a high probability...

    For the true novices

$500 with a return of 100% a year. (just a small % do this) means you made $500 for the year. Minimum wage is a lot more than that. Robert tharp

    Wade Cook news...

They have a penny stock that was rejected to be listed on the NASDAQ or NYSE big boards. It was trading around .08 a year ago not sure where it is now. I do know his selling calls/puts strategies produced a -$800,000 trading loss for his company. All of their income came from...

% of traders profitable at pro firms?

Nice Post Gene and Protrader. One thing I tell someone who wants to be in this business is that they must WANT it. They need to think long term. Trading is a learning process. A traders needs to be able to survive the bad times to be around for the great times. Robert Tharp

Bright Trading and Other Pro Shops?

Don, Many apologies if I had wrong information, the last thing I ever want to do is not relay the most up to date information about firms. I have my own internet message board site as well, and I get a lot of emails everyday saying different things about a lot of different firms, so some of...

    Audio of stock futures pits

My old clearing firm Laurence Bonofitto had this guy at our desk calling prices all morning on the phone for the 30-Year Bond. It was mainly for the London Traders. I don't know if the calling they do is on the net. If it helps their clearing # is 454. Robert Tharp

Bright Trading and Other Pro Shops?

Don My references came from the magazines I can't remember but it was either Active Trader or Stocks and Commodities. I would get those corrected before I'd worry about here. Not something I made up. I never saw a correction printed in the magazine (I'm now in Phoenix instead...

    Some "Bright" strategies...

I think it's well known I am with a competing firm. It is fine with me if Bright is sponsoring the forum. Baron needs to be paid for his time on this website. It is the sponsors that keep it running. The forum seems to be very open. I would have a problem if they started erasing...

    ENE-thoughts

Someone asked me if it gaps than what would I do. I'd wait and watch a 15 minute bar. If it can break the high print than I'd go long with a VERY tight stop. No entry yet --but have to admit I'm not watching it too closely. Rtharp

    a plan

I would agree with the majority of the comments above. One thing to do is think long term. If you wish to become a professional trader, don't think 2 months or 6 months. Think a few years. Trading can provide a very nice income but to get to that level of experience takes years...

When to Stop. When to Push.

I had mentioned earlier I HAVE TO DIG MYSELF OUT OF THIS HOLE attitude is extremely dangerous. Take high probability setups when they come and keep your risk in line. Are you trading to be right or make money. Whenever I up my risk more than I normally do I usually will take a...

    Shorting on the NYSE

One thing to realize is DON is referring to NYSE + orders as limits compared to SuperDOT orders. NYSE+ or NX(as Don is referring to it as) is limited to 1099 shares and is instant. Retail traders though can't normally hit bids during a falling market though without bullets. Rtharp
