    Bullets

I know that Echo passes on their exact cost of bullets to the trader with no mark ups. This is due to traders who have bullets will trade more. If a firm does add a little bit of mark up it is insignificant compared to the benefit. There are so many examples of when to use them. One...

Should I work for Generic Trading of Phila. ?

Vinny There are no minimums at Echo. The desk fee for remote traders/office traders makes up their cost. The high volume traders more than make up for all of the small volume traders combined. They would rather have you profitable and trading just 200 shares a day than have you lose...

    NYSE Charges

Actually that was true but it was decided that there is too much of a conflict of interest for me to be a moderator in the professional firms since I also happen to be a manager for one of them. I always kept things fair and only erased spam and tried to keep this board a PG-13 rating...

    futures at Echotrade !

Used to be done all the time. There were firms making $500,000 a month doing arb on that one. It's gotten very tight and I heard it mainly is making about $500 a month now as too many players have found it. Robert

    Nyse?

This has been discussed pretty heavily. For me it comes down to I'd rather read 1 person who controls the stock and really get to know his personality than read 50 guys and try to figure out who has the most orders. Robert

Rob and Jeff had to leave town unexpectedly to San Diego to help get the office up and running. They should be able to answer your questions this week as they are catching up from being gone Robert

    Why NYSE?

Actually no. The price improvements come from huge orders from instuitions usually. The majority of prices at the bid/ask are some little trader while the real size is sitting behind that. This is due to the decimals and someone putting a penny above or below the specialist...

    Why NYSE?

buy limit. and due to using limit orders. I can't be filled 50 cents less........ Traders who trade with the specialist get price improvements. Trade against him and you can lose. The key is to figure when is specialist taking on stock or taking away stock. If...

    Why NYSE?

Price improvements. I was short CAL today 1/17/02 at 28.82 (testing a different system so don't ask me why as I prefer not to disclose my system). Take a look at the close. He gave me a price improvement from the 28.95 bid done at 16:00:03 to to 28.45 or a free...

    Why NYSE?

I would agree with Gene. There is money to be made on the NYSE. There is also money to be made on NASDAQ choose one and stick to it. Please don't complain about the NYSE system if you are a NASDAQ trader saying how you want it to be different. It serves it's purpose very well for a...

    Why NYSE?

Vinny1 unforunately that is the exception and not the rule 99.9% of the time don't expect price improvements on NASDAQ. Meanwhile on the NYSE on about 80% of the stocks that trade there I get price improvements on about 75% of my orders. Robert
