Why do 95 % of traders lose ?

People get pre-maturely stopped out not because their stops are too tight, but because their timing sucks.

If some day you understand odds you will be ashamed of your own words you just said. :)

No, you call it a "failure", we call it as it is: reversal. :)

Why do 95 % of traders lose ?

It depends. Losses are normal part of trading business (and of any business really). If you understand your losses are normal event and nothing is wrong, why bother cause of them? On the other side if your losses come from you violating your trading rules or something else going wrong, you've...

Exactly the same experience. Despite Surf's thesis of "markets don't attract altruistic people" a few years ago quite a few good traders from ET generously helped me and didn't ever ask a single penny for all their help worth hundreds of hours of their time in total (as we still keep in touch...

Hahaha... Thanks! :) I hope Siberian Crow's story is not the matter of belief, but a matter of actual results shown, cause I'm not trying to create a cult or claim some fantastic results, just share bits of experience both positive and negative. :)

It is interesting that Russian businessman Mikhail Prokhorov played the crisis much better than many HF's. He owned huge shares in metal industries, but went almost totally in cash (worth of several billions $) right before the crap started only to load up in assets at much cheaper prices after...

Reversal yes. Failure no. Grade D. Do your homework better. :D

80 % fail at trend trading

Wrong. 100% of the trends are successful. What you believe are "failed trends" never was a trend in reality. Look for flaws in your analysis. And while you are not a consistently profitable trader, you better shut your mouth, sit and listen with attention and gratitude to people who know what...

Most fail because TA is just a tool. Tool is not enough to make a master. It is so obvious and simple, but most don't like to hear it, cause they consciously or unconsciously hope there's a way to get all for nothing without much efforts. Fact of life: those 95% are lazy crowd. :)

Oh he's a great guy, yeah. As far as I know he's still in the industry, working for institution in Chicago and doing well! I wish we chatted more often than once in a few months as we do now, but he's very busy lately and I believe that's good news, means he has a lot of work to do and he loves...

Thanks! I want also to clarify that even if some tensions occur in the course of argument it only is related to the matter. I still consider you very nice person to talk with. :)

No problem Surf, it was rather my mistake to not clarify things enough. Zulutrade always was more like a hobby/track record thing (after you challenged me in August to show some performance of TA trading, I did 50+ public trades since then, but it didn't convince you somehow :) ). It never was...

    1) I started trading in March 2005. 2008 is when I started trading Euro (tried other instruments before that, mostly CME traded SIF's). 2) What makes you think I only trade micro accounts and my OPM plans are limited with just $10K (a couple of days ago you said it's $4K... your mind-reading...
