Denise Shull Says Tape Reading Art is Real and Alive

No need to believe. You simply either make consistent profits or not. Market quickly erases all illusions. :) P. S. Did you watch the interview?

Denise Shull Says Tape Reading Art is Real and Alive

Who needs to throw huge money out to "paint" charts if big money doesn't use them anyway? :)

Denise Shull Says Tape Reading Art is Real and Alive

I think there are different niches in the financial jungle. Believe you are right about the top people in the business, it's pretty hard to move billions of dollars with TA/feel (though Soros openly admits he relies much on his "feel"). As for the small retail traders, they may make just as...

Denise Shull Says Tape Reading Art is Real and Alive

Don't you think that your personal experience may be just your subjective experience and not reflect the objective reality?

Denise Shull Says Tape Reading Art is Real and Alive

    1. Equity curve shape can give enough information about the probability of series of the events being likely random or not. Clearly not random in the case of consistent TA traders. 2. Chart is not an illusion. Chart is just graphical presentation of actual, real trades which took place at...

Denise Shull Says Tape Reading Art is Real and Alive

I've never heard of gamblers who consistently won in the roulette or other negative sum game after hundreds of bets in a row. There are consistently profitable price action/TA traders though, some of them paying serious attention to their "feel".

Not at all, I fully understand the rationale behind such human behavior. It's really much similar to show business. You raise the investment, if you're lucky and your movie grabs the cash, good, if not, investors knew there was a risk. But. It doesn't mean private trader can't be successful...

Agree, but that's not directly related to trading already, more something to do with show business. :)

By the book you mean DOM and/or other lists of pending orders? P. S. I thought there's just one objective judgement of trader's abilities: profit. Regardless of method, be it the book or tea leaves. :)

Denise Shull Says Tape Reading Art is Real and Alive

Here's the good news for us all who rely on TA (which is a variation of tape reading in my view). One of the top psychologists in the industry with experience of working with some of the largest hedge-funds openly says in the interview on Bloomberg that tape-reading art is absolutely real and...

HFT Killing Retail Traders in ES Futures - NY Times Today

Wow, this thread recalled quite some memories.... Remember those BBS's back in early 90's... no trading/investing related though, cause these activities just barely started in Russia back then. :)

HFT Killing Retail Traders in ES Futures - NY Times Today

Hahaha... No, actually I ask myself why the hell did I spend my time trading Euro for 9-10 hours every day when can make more trading CL for two hours... :D Also about to trade NQ, which is liquid enough, but not as fat (and slow) as ES. Yesterday morning was a beautiful day, one of those you...

HFT Killing Retail Traders in ES Futures - NY Times Today

For a number of reasons I'm back to futures (stock index and testing waters in CL)... Didn't find SIF's to be any harder than back in 2006, when I traded them last time. :)

Right, firewood for the country house outside of the city... but central heating in the city, no problems wearing T-shirt at home when -30-35C outside. :)

Hi Smoker, Haha, not too exotic really aside from weather forecast of -35C for the weekend. :D Other than that, all signs of civilization here including pretty good Internet connection of all kinds. :)
