    Surf's Special Situation Journal

It was third-party verified live track record, no empty claims. Ever. :)

    Surf's Special Situation Journal

Ah you made me recall... I indeed made 15% in October when showed every trade publicly, including you. :D

How is that person related to me?

    Surf's Special Situation Journal

Ah it was a typo... alright, no problem... Personally I usually use 6-8 tick stops max in YM/NQ, but that's day trading.

    Surf's Special Situation Journal

No riddles, all absolutely clear. Strange that you found riddle even in such a short analysis. Are you biased? :D That's hypothetical intermediate-term trade, so 272 point stop-loss, yes. Your long has 1000 point stop-loss, correct? :)

    Surf's Special Situation Journal

Here's my purely technical view on intermediate-term YM (Dow)... Sell signal on the weekly below 13054 with stop-loss above 13326. Profit target if right... no idea! :D

Denise Shull Says Tape Reading Art is Real and Alive

I am psychologist, you know, I listen to a lot of miscellaneous stuff. :D

Denise Shull Says Tape Reading Art is Real and Alive

Yea, that's what I like to do as well. Less bottom-line profits maybe, but higher probability.

Denise Shull Says Tape Reading Art is Real and Alive

Yes. This is an interesting psychological issue really (on target with the topic of the thread). When we watch the market, we soon start to perceive nearly every move as potentially profitable and emotionally "own" it. As a result many people try to participate in the market action almost...

Denise Shull Says Tape Reading Art is Real and Alive

Absolutely agree. "Correct" TA is very basic really, so is the market itself. Up/down/sideways, volatility expansion/contraction. Nothing else there. :)

Denise Shull Says Tape Reading Art is Real and Alive

Problem, Surf, is that you believe exactly the opposite. That you are one of adepts who possess the "real knowledge" and everyone else is just amateur knowing nothing about trading. :)

Denise Shull Says Tape Reading Art is Real and Alive

Yes LF, you're right. But I find Surf's words deluding for people who may read him and have an impression that trading is something only few who have access to some extraordinary resources can do and that generally trading is the game of "big guys" only, totally impossible to win for retail...

No arguments left? Oh come on Surf, you're professional sales person, aren't you?

Denise Shull Says Tape Reading Art is Real and Alive

I don't tweak TA term as you just did. When I say TA i say TA (using market data to make trading decision). I use charts, volume, volume delta, DOM... everything. Also use fundamentals to certain degree, but don't include them here, cause it's not TA. So who of us is diverting the topic? :p...

Denise Shull Says Tape Reading Art is Real and Alive

No, wait. TA is not just charts. T&S, volume, DOM analysis is also technical analysis, no doubts about it. "Technical analysis is a method of evaluating securities by analyzing the statistics generated by market activity" (from Investopedia definition). What is pre-trade data besides...

Denise Shull Says Tape Reading Art is Real and Alive

Fine, thanks. If not TA though, what data can be used for conclusions?

Denise Shull Says Tape Reading Art is Real and Alive

I try to keep my mind open. I don't know if astrology is garbage or not... like many other things in life. What I know is me and other people I know use tools X and produce result Y. Trading is business, not research. We just do what works and not try to second-guess why does it work. Let...

    Do you believe in forex?

No different than any other markets around. But everything is cyclical and Euro volatility dried up so much lately, that I switched to US stock index futures after almost 5 years with EURUSD and feel like in heaven compared... Moral of the story: any market is good if it moves. :) IMO brokers...
