Well, taking epic moves doesn't necessarily mean poor timing. :)

I've concluded its impossible to day trade index futures manually

I probably missed something. Does anybody offer $20K for the proof of consistent day trading index futures? What is criteria for "consistent"?

It sure is, but hit rate (rather max draw-down) is also important if you want to use capital/leverage effectively.

Around 50% win rate is fine with me. 80% would be too much, not optimal equity curve and not optimal capital use.

Thanks. :) I absolutely agree there is no single "correct" approach. And believe any trader who is deliberate in this profession should keep the mind open for all opportunities to improve. Some time ago there were no charts too, just "the tape". So probably some day people look at charts with...

Watched the video too... seems that I am so fixated on charts that hardly can imagine using other tools instead. Patterns are imprinted to the reflex so I basically just scan for them. Would be interesting to try and trade without charts some day. :) P. S. Still like sex more than trading...

Sounds reasonable to me. But probably more related to intra-day trading, where time is limited for making a decision. It made me wonder: if swing traders have different brain areas "activated" during their analysis of the markets, assuming they spend much more time in much less rush and...

Well, frankly I sometimes speak in similar way among trader buddies and nobody seems to question those "calls" just because there were many live real-time calls as well and no real motivation for "fake" calls. Doubt NoD has a reason to post something she didn't do here as well.

Haha, it wasn't irony actually, I seriously thought that's some term I was unaware of! :D Got it now, very interesting that we percept trading activity as sort of movement.

Honestly not. Accepting online avatars too deep in your heart is not very constructive, unless they are real people you know like a few people in this thread related to me.
