To be fair, one doesn't need to make such a huge return to be a very happy trader. Xspurt probably shooting for such a huge goal in order to knock out any naysayers. But it won't help. Even if his student makes $1B in the first year, people would say "luck" or something else. :)

That's what I said, when was asked by Surf how much AUM I have for my OPM program: "Let's say I make $1000 a month. Much better sleep for me this way." Now it seems that $1000 figure attracts too much attention, so I officially claim to make $100 and being a liar about $1000. :p

Not in the big city. As we both know, Russia is high contrast economically. My father, professor indeed has a salary of $700 per month net. About $1200 total income considering his pension also. At the same time $1000 a month is considered a crappy salary in the same city for some office...

As Buffet said: if it's worth a penny, it's worth a dime. You either are consistent trader or not. No difference for a vehicle like Euro if you trade $10/tick or $1,000/tick. That's the beauty of this profession: amazing scalability.

Fully agree with that point. Tight risk control is a way to optimally manage your money and compound the most effective way. One trader we both know used parts of my statistical approach and his results were much better than before that, because he realized stops can effectively be much smaller...

Yup. Could just follow the trend and win consistently without anything else. But people find that too easy apparently. :D

Yea, it's amazing how people tend to fight the trend instead of just going with the flow. Zen state in trading is rare. :)

And I agree with you. As I started to share my real-time trading with a few guys online, some of my own issues were exposed and fixed, I became more disciplined, because have to be sort of "benchmark" for my "students", have to express everything in the form others are able to understand etc...
