One more reason to go delta-neutral and long-side spreads/straddles. Worst case your loss on a trade is limited no matter what. Historically, if straddles applied, every trade called by Surf since end of 2012 would be profitable or not a severe loss at very least.

BTW, sounds strange from a day trader, but for longer-term trades I would drop everything below Daily. Completely. 5-min action is absolutely irrelevant to the energy of big, longer-term moves.

Frankly, daily & weekly are pretty bearish from TA point of view (see the daily chart I posted a couple days ago). Don't see much fundamental reason for such a drop though. P. S. My own approach is always small losses, small wins, big wins. No big losses allowed, ever. Commissions don't each...

Yea, being stubborn never works in trading. Like one great trader told me more than once: "be the girl in dance with the market". Needless to say how hard it is to do in reality considering most traders are classic A-type males.

Wish you all the best, Surf. But I noticed one thing Xspurt emphasized too. You predict volatile moves very well. Direction is different story (TA rules in directional trading, big way). Maybe you consider trying to apply your PD's to delta-neutral strategies at least in addition to your...

Let's learn/discuss how to read the DOM and Time and Sales

Wow, KOSPI futures in the current fundamental environment... are they volatile (I know they are very liquid, but never watched them somehow)?

Let's learn/discuss how to read the DOM and Time and Sales

I tried reading DOM and T&S for clues. Didn't succeed, changes too fast for me. DOM is the best tool to enter/adjust orders quickly though, so I always have it on the screen to manage trades.

Not talking about that particular trade here, my bread and butter is intra-day stuff. But buy and hold no doubt can provide an edge if one possesses abilities to read fundamental context well.

Maybe we don't understand each other... How is this not profitable buy and hold trend? As for intraday trading, even $500 per contract can be not bad at all so I don't complain. :p

Yea, beauty of TA is we always know what to do before entry orders are placed.

I don't share the passion of dancing on Surf's bones as well. He may trade good or bad, bash TA but he looks like an overall nice person to me. I'd rather prefer Surf stay with us and we continue discussions. Sometimes arguments, but overall we had some nice talks too despite our disagreement.

I disagree moderators can't participate in active arguments. They violate ethics only if they use their button to delete certain posts or ban someone for an on topic disagreement with their position. But participate as simple users. Why not?

Perfect example of why Al Brooks is impossible to follow

NoD is not only polite (which rare among traders, who are typically AAA-type personalities and behave accordingly, look at me for example :D ), but she really knows what she does. And had a great quasi-mentor, one of the best consistent traders on ET with decades of live experience (speaking of...

Anyone have a use for bid/ask volume bars? (screenshot)

Tried that too. But didn't notice any particular advantage. So went back to raw volume.
