Nikkei going as much as 7% down sure added some spiciness to that KR. :D

A Fund vs. Your Own Money

Interesting information on TopStep, SS, thanks. I read about the contest in past, but never paid serious attention. Personally I found that getting the same amount of capital ($50-100K) is a no biggie within literally a month if you have a bit of reputation among people you know. That's my...

Serious key reversal day in SIFs. Let's hope for a higher VIX and some pull back. :)

Trading with a Stop Loss in the Futures Market is for Losers

With $5K or $5M on the account there is no difference: day trading only makes sense on leverage, which means smaller move constitutes higher relative risk and higher reward. It's amazing how "higher math education" people don't get such a simple idea. :) Which consequently means STOPS aka cut...

Trading with a Stop Loss in the Futures Market is for Losers

Who needs futures if don't use the margin?

Trading with a Stop Loss in the Futures Market is for Losers

Yea, someone who went long 1685 today without a stop-loss sure felt much better as it dumped. :D

Day traders - how are you preparing for retirement

All depends on one's priorities. If they are to live moderately comfortable and relatively secure life as long as possible, then you're right, security of social guarantees is better. Must tell you that I witnessed huge social paradigm (USSR) completely crashing and security being thrown in a...

Mostly R/E and some stocks as long-term value investing.

Anybody trade the Russell 2000 (TF)

Well in NQ there are no issues with slippage even on quite some size. In less liquid instruments stop-limit would be the way to go indeed. But the best trades are usually quick and there's a balance between getting filled @ good price and getting filled at all. :) Maybe that's just my issue...

Anybody trade the Russell 2000 (TF)

Think my problem with lower liquidity instruments is that I usually enter @ MKT or STP orders. If I managed to learn how to catch micro-pullbacks and enter on limits, slippage would be an issue on worst-case stop-outs only and would play the smaller role in overall profitability.

Anybody trade the Russell 2000 (TF)

Got it. My personal choice is currently NQ (and occasionally 6E as well), because it offers great combo of liquidity and decent volatility also. Ranges in ticks seem to be much the same as TF. CL for some reason looks choppier for me and also is pretty thin, starts to slip very soon. Same for...

    Meet Dylan The Day-Trader

Nope. :) Know why? Because I trade basically the same way since early 2008. And things didn't get worse a bit. Only what changes is volatility, the rest of market behavior is not much different or at least doesn't affect my style. Probably because I evolve with the market being in the market...

A Fund vs. Your Own Money

Thanks for the answer, Smoker! I remember you told you're in the Gulf (I assume UAE or like that, pretty comfortable for a living and good place tax wise). One more question if you don't mind: what scalability is considered as OK "size" in quantitative terms by allocators? Ability to...

Are you satisfied about Your Trading?

Enjoy, of course. But work more and more too if the process is what we enjoy as well. :) People have different motivations. I seriously doubt those who make billions do it because they need it in life. Rather it's the process of the competition itself what makes them excited, so they keep...
