If you want to learn and understand, why do you start your threads with a statement, rather than question?

This is pretty common psychological issue... How do you think yourself: why do you keep trading despite your plan says stop trading? What is your own opinion about the cause of it?

It is not about odds. It is about professional abilities to do certain kind of things... And I am very concerned about your words of strategies "without crap like stops"... It is very dangerous to think longer-term trades do not need stops... They probably need them more than day trades do...

BTW, trading 3 times a day is considered day trading by most people, not swing trading. While trading 30 times a day is rather scalping.

1. 2 pips spread is ridiculous. Boot your broker and choose another one. :D 2. It is not a loss, it is an expense... Yes, it is significantly higher, but so is the profit. Many scalpers, including HFT algos pay absolutely huge amount in commissions, but nevertheless end up well in the green...

Market does not act the same way rain does... Market is people watching all those "S/R levels" etc... So certainty, at least sometimes, TA is the cause for market move, not the other way around.

All approaches have their benefits and drawbacks... So in my view, ideal combo is do them all, from scalping to value investing.

One must remember, that of those who try day trading, probably only the minority treats it like a serious business and commits serious time investment into studying the markets and nuances of day trading. Most just look for easy money, try it, fail and add to that 90-99% number of losers...

Brokers of course encourage frequent trading, but aside from that it can still be pretty profitable activity.
