    Day trading is losers game

At least a few people I know well for several years and talk with them literally every day. One of them is NoD, who's evolution from a newbie to a great trader I witnessed myself and can definitely say her success is result of her deliberate practice and willing to learn. Some of others have...

    Day trading is losers game

If you want to learn and understand, why do you start your threads with a statement, rather than question?

    why can't i stop after 3 losers?

This is pretty common psychological issue... How do you think yourself: why do you keep trading despite your plan says stop trading? What is your own opinion about the cause of it?

Thank you NoD. I must say, that you are doing extremely well too, often reading your posts I see your understanding of the markets and the trading business is truly stellar... P. S. People who helped me in my early years and even some of my current partners are fine with 4-5 ticks on Euro...

    Day trading is losers game

    1. Jim Rogers does not swing trade, he invests according to his fundamental views. So he is not even a trader in traditional sense of the word. 2. I am more than sure, that he and other successful long term players (probably with rare and lucky exceptions) still use some strategies to limit...

    Day trading is losers game

It is not about odds. It is about professional abilities to do certain kind of things... And I am very concerned about your words of strategies "without crap like stops"... It is very dangerous to think longer-term trades do not need stops... They probably need them more than day trades do...

    Day trading is losers game

BTW, trading 3 times a day is considered day trading by most people, not swing trading. While trading 30 times a day is rather scalping.

    1. 2 pips spread is ridiculous. Boot your broker and choose another one. :D 2. It is not a loss, it is an expense... Yes, it is significantly higher, but so is the profit. Many scalpers, including HFT algos pay absolutely huge amount in commissions, but nevertheless end up well in the green...

    Day trading is losers game

Natural defensive activity of the human mind... To avoid the pain of admitting true cause of their failure people start to seek for outside reasons.

Is this a question or a statement? :D

    Technical analysis is a crutch

Market does not act the same way rain does... Market is people watching all those "S/R levels" etc... So certainty, at least sometimes, TA is the cause for market move, not the other way around.

    Day trading difficulties

All approaches have their benefits and drawbacks... So in my view, ideal combo is do them all, from scalping to value investing.

    Day trading difficulties

One must remember, that of those who try day trading, probably only the minority treats it like a serious business and commits serious time investment into studying the markets and nuances of day trading. Most just look for easy money, try it, fail and add to that 90-99% number of losers...

    Day trading difficulties

Difficult does not mean impossible, so no contradiction here. I day trade as well as trade longer-term for 6 years and know benefits and drawbacks of both approaches well enough... In addition to my own experience I helped a few people to deal with psychological issues of trading (mostly day...

    Day trading difficulties

Brokers of course encourage frequent trading, but aside from that it can still be pretty profitable activity.

Do you leave your trading behind for the day?

Cannot say I leave all the thoughts about trading behind... But that is often the case with people, who are truly interested in their career/business, I don't see anything negative about it, unless it harms other aspects of your life.

    Technical Analysis = CRAP

Can you shortly explain, how you see the difference between "quant way" and "TA way"?

    Technical Analysis = CRAP

I would gladly enter a trade with way below 50% probability of profit, provided it has good enough R:R.

    one of the favorite patterns

Looks much like "2B" pattern, aka failed BO... It is good one indeed.

Why do 95% of retail traders lose?

Yes, you either have to be a true professional, or you will lose... Most, if not all who lose in the trading business think it's some kind of a hobby or even worse, easy money, rather than serious career... And they get what they deserve.
