Wrong. It's the matter of how you fine tune your entry. I don't lose more than 6 ticks, because it simply doesn't make sense to hold for more. My signals either work right off the start (often even 3 ticks stop would be enough) or I am out. It's about the logical amount which is reasonable...

If you use discretionary trading methods yourself, why did you criticize them as "too much ego involved" a few posts earlier? As for authors, yes they probably don't disclose something revolutional in their books, but that's the case with many areas of human activity. If...

It looks to me there's a confusion in terms. "Trend trading" by itself does not explain anything, because trend following strategies can be based on PA, indicators, fundamentals, astrology or anything else. Oilfxpro, did I understand you correctly, that you mean "mechanical trading" when...

Has there ever been a single documented case of profitable live trades?

Yes, that is different NoDoji. "Our" NoD doesn't play Ichimoku and similar things the other NoDoji discusses, AFAIK.

Well, for me the best trades are BOTH early entries AND then riding the bigger trend. I agree with you, though, that having no opinion and just following the price is probably the best way to make consistent money in this business. Lines, MA's or whatever are just framework for our brain...

If one took time to read Brook's first book (actually just preface) with enough attention, he would read that Brooks himself stated that of course the biggest money does not use those trendlines, intra-day levels etc. But that is absolutely irrelevant and cannot be the base for conclusion if...

Thanks. I am afraid of snakes and worms though, so only a minimum of those curves on my screen. :D All in fun, just joking. If it works for you, great!

You need to stop smoking or snuffing or whatever you do with this stuff or it may seriously harm your health. :D P. S. Trade was good for 35 pips until last swing low failed.

Euro 15M offered a good early entry with the use of same principles as yesterday.

Thank you, Donna. Happy New Year for you and your family too! Miss our Skype chats. :) I don't scalp that heavily anymore, though, because one old guy we both know strongly recommended me to focus on continuations and I practice just that now trying to catch more of daily "runs". :p

Honestly, all I care is P&L in the end of a trading period. Everything else is of secondary importance. :)

As for the latest Euro PA on 5-min. Brooks analysis would even provide a reversal short for a profit, which could be way profitable by now, but I am not as talented scalper as NoD is and only take clear trades, which simply provide a better R/R entries into classic TA setups. :)

Yes, higher time-frame trading is also far less stressful. Tend to play longer-term myself than used to.

Took just scalp (1:1 R/R) profit on the last trade, but profit, while classic TA would result in a loss or break-even in the best case.

I mostly trade spot forex. Yes, PA works the same way in any timeframe, I would say daily/weekly even better than intra-day (because of smaller noise component in analysis of high time-frames).

Using 3 fancy tweaked MA's instead of common price action is a bit redundant in my view. :) Whatever works for you, though.
