Depends on time scale, I am scalping addict and would likely bail already if shorted (I didn't, just observed the price dumping a bit being stopped by daily resistance level in the Euro). ES looks like potential bull flag/bull 2B reversal to me now...

Well, I am not trading chronicler, but think yes, this classification is pretty close to reality, just maybe insider info can be put into #2 being the form of illegal fundamental analysis (analysis of the causes driving the market rather than market action itself). :)

Well, my conclusion comes from that famous (and pretty good I must say) Edwards & Magee book is named "Technical Analysis of Stock Trends" while it actually describes price action at it's best, paying only some attention to anything else if any. :) And in general I think TA is any trading...

Algos can't adapt to changing environment as flexibly as humans and after all algos are just small parts of human thinking being transformed into computer code. Not even speaking of errors which cost a lot indeed. So ideal trader is probably a human, but without emotions, which may negatively...

Wee, two page is too long document. Way too long. :) But regarding discretionary trading: simple rules don't even closely guarantee one will be profitable anytime soon. Because other (mental/emotional etc.) issues arise, especially during live trading.
