All depends on the degree of the stress. Without any doubts successful and consistent traders have far less degree of a stress than consistent losers or pathological market gamblers. But one can't deny presence of a stress associated with risk taking and decision making.

Try to attach heart monitor (nowadays there are nice portable gadgets, which you may carry for a whole day without any discomfort) and see how your heartbeat changes depending on what you do, especially during the trading day. :) Again, I do not mean chronic stress as something scary... but...

Obviously you have never dealt with professional stress and it's characteristics. Many professions besides trading produce chronic stress, military pilots, air traffic controllers etc... All of these and many other professions induce chronic stress to a degree that places where people deal with...

Correct, even successful trading leaves it's print on one's psyche and I must say, not the best possible one, because chronic stress is inevitable part of trading at least to some degree. But desperate chronic losers express this especially clear.

If 98% of diamond cutters tried it from scratch without any experience, failed for a few times and dropped, diamond cutting would have about the same success rate. :D But what you're right about is that diamond cutting doesn't have element of uncertainty and constant need for decision making...

Some TA elements are almost purely objective. Some TA setups are objective. Some nuances are more subjective, those provide an extra edge in the hands of experienced trader. Like many other things in life: you start with the simplest objective stuff and progress to the stage of an art...
