    Technical analysis :useless junk science

No, you can't otherwise you would already do it rather than talk about it. :) And remember brother Oily, failure of TA setup is TA setup... and a failed failure is a setup too. So whenever you base your trading on "TA failure" you still trade TA. No other way for you, but to learn TA...

Great... How do you guys say: now make some real-time calls to prove it's not junk. :D

I strongly recommend reading this post by NoDoji: http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=3639268#post3639268 Do what she said and don't what she said don't do... If you really do that, you will be amazed with the results.

    Technical analysis :useless junk science

Any tool is junk in wrong hands.... give AK-47 or any other assault rifle to the monkey and you better hide ASAP. Does it mean weapons are junk tools? :D Moral: WORK, Oily, WORK, don't rationalize that you work hard already, if there is no result it means you don't work hard enough, period...

Yea, textbook example of how tools are not enough... skill makes the master, not the tools.

Nope. There are different ways and there are wrong ways, quite simple. :)

Despite you seem to draw trendlines and levels nearly randomly, there are some great trades on your charts... The reason you missed them is not in the TA, it's between your ears. :D

For three reasons. :) 1. Nobody really cares to prove naysayers wrong. 2. Naysayers will not admit being wrong anyway. 3. #2 is one of the reasons why nobody cares to prove naysayers wrong. :D

Very interesting. You just listed the main causes why people are not successful in trading, particularly TA trading too. NoDoji also listed these causes in her excellent post.

True... But what's even more amazing, it may turn out all 5 make money. :D

    Surf's Special Situation Journal

No no no, wait... :) Performance is actually pathetic, because as I said it's very distracting to peform demo trades there and simultaneously trade for myself using two platforms.... quite the crappy experience when you day-trade with distractions like that. BUT... how could I fake the...

So you have your own professional interest in this project and want others to serve your purpose of getting the first hand experience by spending their valuable time in this contest? Now that's the honest true reason at least. :)

    Surf's Special Situation Journal

Is that supposed to be scary perspective? :) Why do you ignore the fact I literally already performed the same task as the contest you offer? Or that particular contest is the only way to prove working TA?

    Zulu trading updated

I have SP account there, overall there's not too ugly slippage (I heard of execution issues), but many brokers are poor quality, offering wide spread and restrictions on orders placement, which makes providing day trading signals with tight stops/quick position management there not easy to say...

    Surf's Special Situation Journal

Hmm... I am moderately profitable on my Zulutrade system, screenshot of which Surf posted here last week and which now has 26 closed trades with 46% win rate, max winner of 18 ticks and max loser of 10 ticks... all despite the very distracting nature of this signal providing activity, having to...

    Surf's Special Situation Journal

Well, that's still not the valid reason. Let me explain why. It's YOUR belief that TA practitioners come to ET for the sole purpose to get followers, OK, let's suppost it's so... Still, why would they want to participate in YOUR proposal? And what if we consider that far not all TA...

Again the same question: why would they want to do it? :) I am still waiting for one reason "why" besides proving something.

See... YOU want to be proven... how do you think is it automatically equal to ME wishing to prove you something? :)

    Surf's Special Situation Journal

I'm really glad you now have peace of mind towards TA. :) And you're right, the answer is obvious... ppl don't want to participate. :) Really, name me one reason to participate besides proving someone something.
