What makes you think that if setups don't work for YOU, the problem is the setups and not YOU? :) I use very common setups successfully, I make consistent profits every month, having no problems with TA "not working" at all... How do you think why is that?

It is dumb to put all eggs in one basket thinking you put them in different baskets. And much more dangerous, because you again delude yourself instead of looking right in the eyes of the reality.

Exactly. Good method with an edge is perfectly compounded, which is effectively icreasing size after winning, not after losing. And if there's no edge, adding size after losses will only make the drama worse eventually.
