ETF Arb trade strategy for today 2PM Fed announcement

Here's a strategy I'll test today right after Powell's 2pm announcement. Assumption is that fed rate information will move the market up or down, we just don't know which direction, so I'm hedging. The strategy: put buy stop orders in for both long bias TQQQ and short bias SQQQ at .50 or so...

    Is Technical Analysis a joke??

Yes! The math, the risk & trade management is far more important than the chart patterns. X100 TA has a key role to play re decision support and scanning, but it's tiny compared to risk management. Wish I'd understood that 20 years ago, just how much

We all see how’s Trump is handling covid19. Do you think Biden would do it better?

Hence my bearish bias, I have seen nothing but incompetence from the federal government re coronavirus. I wish Gottlieb were handling this instead.

    Is Technical Analysis a joke??

Of all ta, I find range to be most useful, because it shows trade potential. An uptrend or breakout in a low-range choppy chart is much less tradable than a wide-range clean chart. I find market internals TRIN VIX and in vs out S&P day, premkt futs very important to factor in. Gap...

Should US open economy sooner in May or wait more.

I agree with Cramer's earlier point re fed should allocate Manhattan project type resources to cv cure. That's strategically important

Special Message from Lysol : Don't listen to the Orange Idiot

Have to say I'm completely disappointed in the federal government's epic fail when it comes to cv. No national early mitigation standards, mixed or downright dangerous or dumbass comments, testing and ppe failures , disagreements with scientific facts etc I like Gottlieb and Cuomo. I...

    BANKRUPTCY RISK <-- Required reading

Great point and cautionary note... There will be many bankruptcies especially small and midcaps, so I'm scaling into TZA SRTY inverses, eg shorting the Russell may be a good play

Great to see, thx! I was a Dragons Lair huge fan, used to draw crowds of other students watching me play in college arcade,, rescuing daphne. There were hidden elevator codes, left right patterns you could use to replay/skip levels in arcade version, discovered that

    Is Technical Analysis a joke??

As an award-winning #1 rated readers choice columnist for TASC magazine, and former statistician for Ford, here's my .02: Price action, trading ranges and risk management is more important than any squiggly lines on charts. The math is far more important than charts, x100 when it comes to...

Why you should average up, NEVER down

Depends on what you trade, totally agree long trends rare nowadays. I expect swing trades to last 3 days max. I just booked a 1k+ profit yesterday swing trading inverse ETFs, using position sizing, small size. I often buy and sell during extended hours

Anyone work for a game company? Activision, EA, Epic, Riot...c, etc.

Well said, many games are incomplete shells designed to be frontend stores for costly DLC. I'm a former gamer, heavy (not online). I started at day 0 playing pong, asteroids, pacman when gaming began, arcade style. I then bought and played virtually every top game that ever came out...

Why I remain BEARish despite fed pump April 9th

It worked out great, as I closed out most positions with trailing stops early afternoon yesterday, ending up slightly over 1k up on the day. I went mostly cash into the close. Sincere thanks, your nudge re time to cash out the winnings was right on the money!

Why I remain BEARish despite fed pump April 9th

Thanks, great points.... agree re small size reduces stress, I don't give af how any one trade works out since low risk. Downside is it's a lot more work, but worth it.. Emotions, as long as I follow my rules I don't get too ticked off... I feel sad if I lose 500 or more in a day, happy...
