I bought more inverses SDOW SPXS TVIX etc just now premkt

How will you trade Monday if markets continue selling? I went mostly cash into the weekend, holding just a little inverses in my main account. Will scale in if they continue up tomorrow. Go bears!

True, 21 years experience here and as I tell my traders, Monday sucks.. unless it's a rare selloff red Monday I do minimal trades on Mondays, though tomorrow may be tradable if we get a selloff:p

It's great to have weekends off, otherwise it would feel exhausting and endless, like grinding hold'em cash games in Vegas.

Interesting post, you make some good points. I've found daytrading scalping to be the hardest style to be consistent with. Swingtrading has big risk because of gaps. My favorite strategy is intraday swings with trailing stops, like I did with TVIX last week.

For next week the main thing to watch is the VIX, and what the S&P does relative to 3000. Look at TVIX chart last week

True. Add to winners only, or as I say "feed your winners, starve your losers" Trades are independent events. To not give back unrealized profit from first entry use slightly better than breakeven trailing stop. For example I buy at $22/share and double at $30 I trail stop on all at 27

If I'm daytrading and having a bad run I decrease size over a sequence of trades. If I'm winning I scale up. For swings I always start small, and if the trend is strong my goal is to add, every few days. I think it's smart to only add to winners.

Great points, agree. I also use automated trailing stops for daytrading with OTO orders, huge help. Exactly right re swings need trending markets, and problem of gaps. I do both, many small daytrades plus swings, combination approach. My biggest cause for when I lose is overtrading...

Classic mean reversion S&P action... big move down yesterday, 50% bounce gap up today followed by downside continuation. Key is 3k support. Made winning trades in TVIX and other inverses today
