    Ken's RED days: Lessons Learned

Excellent points; thanks to all. It comes down to rules, best practices and DISCIPLINE to follow through. Such as: Only trade gappers and 2day high breakouts Avoid inside days and charts Don't do any short bias trading when TRIN <1 If I'd followed my rules I'd have skipped ETFs today. I...

    Ken's RED days: Lessons Learned

Sincere thanks, I completely agree.. just what I need to hear. I'll refocus on what I do best which is daytrading momentum runners vs inverses. Old habits are hard to let go of, I'd done well with them in March. I'll try to stop trading them for now. Right re FANG stocks, often great...

    Ken's RED days: Lessons Learned

GOAL: To help avoid errors and reduce stops. 7/10 PnL -$478 30+ trades,, I overtraded choppy open Friday Avoid inside days where S&P opens in middle of 2day chart Focus on 2day high breakouts and gaps vs bottomfishing inverses Charts like WIMI CGC were strong Done right: hedged TZA with TNA...

Fidelity's 0 Commission Platform, what are the cons?

I used to trade on IB tws for years and it's the best platform, period. I'm now using fidelity the last couple of years, doing lots of trades on ATP workstation and highly recommend it. They have hands-down the BEST customer service, I've called dozens of times and their team is worldclass...

Daytraders, When was the last time you stripped down to a naked chart and traded without indicators?

Great point. For example I look at prior day's trading range, depth of cups, and open range breakout, none of which use derived indicators.

Are you mostly Daytrading vs Swingtrading now?

Good point. An important point re daytrading is to minimize trading on inside days like today because they're choppy af. I mostly got stopped out today trading TNA/TZA UVXY etc since whipsaw market. There were a couple of strong charts WIMI UONE my traders found, but overall a frustrating...

Bears back finally? S&P drops to near 3000

Good to hear it, we've followed GDX in my chatroom; when I daytraded it recently I hedged with inverse DUST. Today it along with TZA SDOW UVXY FAZ look interesting if they break out.

Daytraders, Who Likes Their Stops So Tight They Squeak ?

Great point.... I'm hedging by usually doing 2-3 trades with a variety of entries and trailing vs hard stops. It took me years to realize it's a numbers game vs big decisions with big risk..

Daytraders, When was the last time you stripped down to a naked chart and traded without indicators?

The only thing on my daytrading charts are 1minute candles and volume. I also use the tape. All that matters is price action. I was going to say that "anybody using squiggly lines or indicators like vwap/ema for daytrading is a fcking moron", but I hesitated lol :D Here's an example, sans...

Bears back finally? S&P drops to near 3000

Most of my recent trades are daytrading long breakouts, gaps and pivots, in both stocks and ETFs . My favorite strategy is to trade gap continuations. I also trade hedged pairs of opposite ETFs like TZA/TNA and GDX/DUST. True re trading with the trend; as a daytrader I'm using trailing...

Daytraders, Who Likes Their Stops So Tight They Squeak ?

The great thing about free stock commissions for USA traders is we can use super tight stops and trade much more frequently without commish load taking profits.

Bears back finally? S&P drops to near 3000

Good to hear it, though I'm not going to swing heavy short til we stay sub 3k for a few days. Daytrading great now with trailing stops. Interesting Pete re that setup Prospect of Biden potus more than anything may tank markets. Clueless fed re coronavirus not good for markets either, plus...

Bears back finally? S&P drops to near 3000

Yeah, the worst odds inverses are Nasdaq and semis, SQQQ SOXS..... best are small cap, dow, vix and finance TZA SDOW UVXY FAZ

    Trading gap ups

Well said. Over 21 years my best trades are minor 2day high gap continuations for stocks and ETFs priced $15-$40. The worst gap-n-crap charts are the low float insanely stupid under-$10 pos stocks that are frontrun by bs young poser gurus in chatrooms.

Bears back finally? S&P drops to near 3000

Anyone else trading bearish bias now? I'm in just a few k worth of inverses for building swing positions. Favorite daytrading inverses definitely UVXY TZA.

Are you mostly Daytrading vs Swingtrading now?

It's a great topic. The current market requires a flexible approach; I'm simply curious about what my fellow traders here are doing re swing vs daytrading.

Daytraders, Who Likes Their Stops So Tight They Squeak ?

Good topic, I selectively set stops based on price action in each chart. General approach for daytrading stocks and ETFs priced $15-$40: Max stops just under current lod Tight trailing stops .2-.3 Wide trailing stops .6 I usually set up at least 2 trades with different entries and stops to...
