any software backtesting options stratetgy and automatically trading it

Jeff thanks but I was not asking about your system only answering the original posters question. I am in the camp with the 99.99% of the rest of the world who says that options are a derivative of the underlying not of the previous prices.

    Purely Mechanical Option Trading

Thanks for the reply. You got a bit too much circular logic in your answers. You reference decades several times an how that influences your picks in the market or is somehow used in these programs of yours, then you say it only works with the SPY stuff. Its getting a little loopy

any software backtesting options stratetgy and automatically trading it

Getting back to the original question consider this. Do you really believe there is a program out there that you simply load on to your computer and turn on and it makes money consistantly ? Such a program would change the markets as we know them

any software backtesting options stratetgy and automatically trading it

Okay I could be wrong since I am not 100% sure on the rules for retial people having never worked in that environment. Its more then just market makers who can make automated trades on those places but I will take your word on the retail side.

any software backtesting options stratetgy and automatically trading it

No such rule... in fact just about every market making firm these days runs hundreds of books totally automated. In places like Philly you only have to have 1 guy on the floor to stream in quotes totally automated in hundreds of books. The ISE and the BOX are totally electronic too and firms run...

    What's in a Nickname?

In the context of the times and the kind of war I suspect a lot of people would have had the stones to do it if that were the situation today. This should still be in an off topic forum. I dont use valium nor is a childish insult needed.

    What's in a Nickname?

The F4U Corsair was always one of my favorites but you CANT find one for sale these days. Even if you had one you could not fly it regularlly simply because the parts are not around anymore that means you'd have to fabricate any piece you need yourself. The 300k number is sort of...

    Purely Mechanical Option Trading

What do any of those have to do with actual math? You sound like you’re implying that you’ve figured out some mathematical edge in the market. Then you list trends, intuition and monitoring in the context of math which really has nothing to do with the three. What delta and time frame...

Bulls are backed by Feds- who the hell backs you?

The FED has not stepped in and bought S and P futures NEVER. That is a total lie from those that say they did.

Bulls are backed by Feds- who the hell backs you?

The fed is running out of bullets, as they have been alluding to already. Further rate cuts are capped by the falling dollar which feeds inflation and the commodities bubble. The mythical PPT is always good for a laugh… They’re the guys the pop out from under the tiles at the CME and...

What kind of imbecile does it take to actually watch and listen to CNBC

I see all over Et people bitching and moaning about CNBC and especially Cramer. Why do they bother so much? Why not just turn the channel and forget about it?

    NYC is so overrated

No that does not exist in Manhattan. You have to be able to actually afford to live in NY to enjoy it. There is a reason its expensive and its not because people don’t like living there. Chicago is nice too, I did a stint there and it does have a pleasant mid west charm.

    Options ahead of Dividend

Div arb call spreads have been going on since long before that paper was written. There is no new ground broken in that paper. I wonder why so much effort was made to create that paper so many years after that game has been around. The bottom line is that div arb call spreads are not...
