1:08PM, May 19/08, NDX Multiday Market Call! Sell anylong, and Go Short

No stop since there was no trade. The market call on the other hand will just be swept under the rug with all the other bad ones he made.

what type for strategy is best to use to profit on volatility?

I was just giving examples of straddles since you defined a straddle as a call and a put, which is correct but its not limited to that. “Overpriced” is really just a matter of opinion, therefore I don’t generally refer to volatility as over priced or under priced in that way. When you...

How many times are you going to tell people to get out of the same long ? LOL

what type for strategy is best to use to profit on volatility?

I believe the original question had to do with volatility trading. Buying the call spread as you suggested is paying top dollar for some Vega and then slapping a guess on direction on top of that. I also believe the conversation is in terms of retail trading, the OI and the volume are not...

what type for strategy is best to use to profit on volatility?

Straddle does not have to be call and put, long call short stock is synthetic long straddle, long put long stock is a synthetic long straddle. Vise versa for short straddles. The stock does not have to have a large move in either direction in order to make the long straddle profitable, you could...

    Options Exercising question

The rules were recently adjusted such that options one cent in the money at expiration will be exercised by your broker/occ. It should also be pointed out that the price the buyer paid for the option has nothing to do with the whether that option is an early exercise candidate or not. In...

Am I pissing people off here

Not sure I would call it a flaw, nor do I think they care. Its a personal question, if you feel as a small retial guy that you want to trade wide markets and that risking having someone lift your offer when you're not really a seller is worth it, then go for it. I would suggest you find a...

Am I pissing people off here

Technically its not legal to trade with yourself. You also risk having your offer lifted by anyone else, which if you're really trying to buy that option sucks. The autoquote does not care, its also not designed to lose money for the market makers who have to honor the markets it spits out...

    Risk-free arbitrage - not!

Thats the best advice you can get as a retail trader concerning risk free arbs.

Am I pissing people off here

By the way it wont make a difference if the auto quote moves the bid up to your level. You're a pure retail customer and your order will have priority over the mm's via the rules of parity/priority. The other poster is correct you're just battleing the autoquote not the actual market makers

    Urgent Message From Rennick

What we know is that the market simply continued higher more then 125 points from your first call as a top and you never ever mentioned all those wrong calls again. You appear to have time to make dozens of posts a day but you never ever have time to post a real time trade in any NDX related...

    Urgent Message From Rennick

What about those calls you made to short the NDX at 1925 before it went to 2050? What about those calls you made to short the NDX at 1964 before it went to 2050? What about those calls you made to short the NDX at 1974 before it went to 2050? What about those calls you made to short the...

How to Kill Bulls: Watch Me Do it in Real-time

Same garbage as always. If you dont agree with risky then you're stupid, if you dont agree with risky then you're on the wrong side of the market, if you dont agree with risky then you lie. risky, you need some new material. The entire board is onto your BS.

1:08PM, May 19/08, NDX Multiday Market Call! Sell anylong, and Go Short

What about the folks you told to get short from 1925 all the way up to 2048 and what about those posts you made which said you already got out of your longs? Perhaps you are confusing reality with the 40 million make believe readers you said you believe you have who act on your posts here on ET.

I would only add that you should ALWAYS use the current bid/offer the last price is not all that relevant

    options idea...

More likely you were looking at the last sale and the last sale in the long term call may have been hours or days prior and the stock was a lot lower. Where as the current market in those longer term calls was nowhere near the last sale price or the short term call current market. As people have...

    options idea...

It was the other day and then it was a few weeks ago. Do you really believe that all the market making firms on all the exchanges where that option is listed all mispriced one of the legs in the exact same way at the exact same time. Also, non of the off floor firms picked it up at all?

How to Kill Bulls: Watch Me Do it in Real-time

TRANSLATION OF THE ABOVE: He posts all over the place in hopes one of them is a good call then he runs around and yaps about the one that hit. He has never ever posted any trade in any NDX derivative product but he did make 6 to 10 guesses at the top till one hit. Do you really think any...
