    option arbitrage....examples ?

Just a question, unless you were pure retail customer why would they even allow you to lift the offer or hit the bid infront of the mm's. Back in 2000 I was a mm in the SOX options pit, it was a single listed index so there was no possibility of a crossed market. Prior to that the only equity...

NASDAQ Closing Cross & high after hour volume...

Those Russell indexes mentioned were being rebalanced as of the close this past Friday. Therefore funds which are index funds based on those Russell products must then go out and buy or sell the appropriate amount of shares in each of the stocks in the index to maintain their correct weighting...

Anybody trading 100+ SPX options per order

Thats the basic premis in options market making no matter what the product. Naturally in the SPX its looser since its a single listed product. No market maker in any product is looking to just trade for fair value.

its been well established that the poster who goes by the name riskfreetrading, does indeed trade risk free, simply becasue he does not trade actual real money.

Anybody trading 100+ SPX options per order

Just to add to what nitro posted, I do a ton of SPX business with XFA, they’re an excellent group. IMO, as someone who does a lot of business in the SPX its not really a product for the retail guy, you’re better off using a similar product with electronic access. As was mentioned it’s...

    "I Am A Market Maker"--The Quote

Its pretty simple you're not going to be an off floor market maker no matter what software you have. The exchanges do protect their members and the rules of parity and priorty are in place too. You're objective should not be to be a liquidity provider, but to be a piquidity taker. For the...

    SPY call/put spread

The time premium in the call and the put of the same strike and month is the same amount. Don’t confuse time premium with a dividend being priced in or any other situation. If the time premium in the call of a particular strike was skewed over the time premium of the corresponding put that...

Is there a synthetic equivalent for this?

Depending on how big a trade you wanted to put up you could request the strike be added. Obviously they're not going to add it for a small retail trade. Both the PHLX and CBOE also offer FLEX options with custom date and strikes, but I dont recall off the top of my head what the minimum size is.

    consistent income

Addition to the gap you may have to fight, IV will bve through the roof so those puts will be exploding in value. Whom ever suggested spreads is correct IMO. There is no real good reason to sell naked puts as retial investor when you can take in a bit less premium and have a floor on your losses.

    consistent income

I think what he’s saying is that 4 % a month is pretty much a joke in terms of risk. Every basis point over the risk free rate of return has incremental risk associated with it. That’s just a simple fact not an opinion. So 12 months starting at 4% ... you do the compound interest and see...

    Profitability of Options Market Making

That would be the case only in the thinnest of markets. If you’re looking at options which are listed on several exchanges then THI being on the NBBO or not is not going to be an issue. Don’t forget that even if your order is sent to somewhere like the PSE or the BOX if the NBBO bid and...
