The secret maneuverings of the Plunge Protection Team

if we were to take the scattered accounts of the ppt's interventions at face value, using futures to support the market when short interest is highest... is it technically legal to artificially target and disadvantage the short side of the market to maximize the effect of the intervention...

How did your data provider/platform hold up today?

i see the semantic issue with the word firm. the fact is, the 100 share NYSE quotes advertised on my screen portray themselves as legitimate bids and offers at which i can trade, but they're not it's a shameless and devious way to run a business, but they do it. they're only a few blocks...

How did your data provider/platform hold up today?

towards the end of the day i smart routed an opening order to add 100 shares to an existing short as limit at the current inside bid which was showing 100 shares (i believe at the nyse). the stock was an etf that doesn't require downtick and the order went immediately green. the quote was not...

Bush's 21500 extra troops request rejected

imo iran's token gesture against the dollar probably has almost no impact. wouldn't you agree that bush's unprecedented spending acceleration and helicopter liquidity policy have broken the camel's back if anything has

    IB Bulletins

i'd really also like access to a record of all bulletins time and date stamped to study the effects of these outages. sometimes i've been away from the machine and see the amex or cbot is back online, and want to know when exactly it went down, but can't find out. how do we access past bulletins

    Freedom to Fascism

the tax arguments against the 16th ammendment seem questionable to me, but the creation of the fed was clearly against the best interests of the american ppl the good news is we'll probably see the end of the federal reserve in our lifetimes, maybe much sooner than later
