    Interesting 911 monetary data

no it's totally cool, i wondered the same thing.. the > 1200 fig for Sep is post data. It's actually the month to month differences i was looking at, which do seem to indicate a monthly change in Jul and Aug of 12.9 and 10.8 respectively, from an avg monthly change of around 1.3 from Jan 98 up...

    Interesting 911 monetary data

I just saw this on another board, this one is news to me. There was a fairly precipitous spike in M1 monetary data from July-August 2001, you can observe this yourself, here's M1 historical data http://www.federalreserve.gov/releases/h6/hist/h6hist1.txt If this story is credible...

Is The Whole Nyse Down Or Just Certain Posts?

that would be surprising if it were the case, looking at NYSE total volume ($TVOL), today is a very ordinary day

Is The Whole Nyse Down Or Just Certain Posts?

i discussed the fishy outages during selloffs with the SEC a month ago, and this is the first major one since then. why am i not surprised to see this during a selloff

    And Ben says NOTHING!

i agree. it's a real legacy malfunction. it doesn't seem though that more of the same liquidity frenzy that brought us here is even remotely sustainable as a solution (for the country) maybe for the ultra rich and ultra hedged, but not for the country

    And Ben says NOTHING!

it ought to say something... that a half a percent drop coincident with bernankespeak is apparently an exuberant day for sellers. this market has become excessively conditioned some things are just natural, like the ebb and flow of asset prices. selling off is not that big a deal, is it...

    Your favorite big-picture indicators?

i like to watch monthly bars of a DXY adjusted RUT, and gold adjusted RUT. basically monetized data that has it's whole own set of support and resistance and tells a unique story

    Notional Recession

i could see a scenario where the equity markets peak as the DXY makes that monster 30 year breakdown. trap a shitload of freaked out commodity buyers and ebullient equity buyers at the same time... then bam, some sort of extraordinary measures to the rescue. it's the perfect trap

    Notional Recession

so what's the plan for the dollar folks? despite the cheerleading today, i'm sure i'm not the only one who noticed how sharply it's falling. the euro is a few good days from an all time high and the dxy is a handful of bad days from at least a 30 year low..

    Hillary Clinton "1984"

lol it's almost bizarre really, the attempt to rigidly spin 'loyalty' to a candidate during primaries with traits like intelligence and unemotionality you were abused by those well thought out and unemotional loyalties in such an egregious fashion on your last vote... what makes you think...
