Has anyone lost their edge/system b/c too many people knew?

You are missing his point. Edges are infered by traders, known as physical entities using their brain function to co-interact with markets in the form of impulses, thus creating velocity. Velocity along with S.C.T, B.S, C.R.A.P and R.O.T.F.L provide an answer to the granular network of the...

Thanks a lot again Daniel, you're better than me at searching on the IB website. Now, how do I know if my order has been partially filled? When I use =myname|ord!id7908?sharesFilled, it gives me "invalid req type". Same thing for sharesRemaining...

Cancel/replace trading systems : number of instruments?

Hello, I have been running an automated system doing a lot of cancel/replace limit orders for 3 months and it had great returns so far. The regularity is really good.I am running it on 6 instruments with just 1 lot per order. I had just a few bugs , mostly due to my own incompetence at...

90% tax on wall street workers - how does this affect traders?

I think this rule is highly unfair. Most of the banks algorythmic trading, prop desks... did a good job compensating their crap credit units... I f you want to create trading responsibility, introduces malus along with bonus in the same 10-12% of losses generated. I know, suddenly multi...

    Busting a trade

You don't bust a trade because it has gone the wrong way... You can ask for a trade bust to the exchange if you have been filled far out of the intsrument fair value. There are "no bust ranges " on futures for example. For example, a spike occur because of a fat finger, this spike is like...

    For people trading Europe/Asia/Australia markets

I have traded european stocks a bit. The main difference is that commissions are a lot higher( typically 0.1 % of capital engaged ), which means that most scalping strats won't work as in the US. Stocks are listed on different exchanges in France, Germany, Switzerland ... but most are not...

Any futures broker can attach an stop loss to the main order for PIT contracts ?

I don't know why they don't allow it, but sending stop orders to the pit in advance would lead to those stops being "magically" reached if your size is meaningful... Don't underestimate the greed there.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

This interviewer( don't know his name ) is the coolest guy on earth. I was waiting for someone like him to counter De Fazio's argument. De Fazio is ridiculed now. I would just have added: "How can you compare the 30's thin-volume pit based stock market with todays millisecong trading where 60...
