Are these rates out of line?

Wow, they are robbing you outright on the arca fees. Half a cent to add liquidity? You know they are making a .002 rebate on those trades? So they make .007 when you route arca, while other traders are lowering their costs to close to zero with a competitive rate and earning the credit...

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

Have you ever traded 10 positions at the same time, 3 minutes after the open, all manually? Hmmm.... ? Scaling out is a valid way to manage risk, take advantage of statistical odds of certain price moves and capture price spikes you can't react to fast enough. It has nothing to do with...

free giving away strategy, and they say there is no free lunch

Umm.... that's not a strategy. That's a setup for trade entry, which is one (and not the most important) part of a trade strategy.

How far did you go net negative before you became net positive?

A lot of those market wizards were making big bets in very volatile commodity markets. So they lost big and won big. Way more info available today on how to trade, and with such liquid and easily accesible markets, if you are smart, it's pretty easy to limit the learning curve to just a slow...

which prop firm wants a Nas fut trader

If you are trading NQ and ES, why not look at trading QQQQ and SPY at a firm where your equivalent rates might actually be lower and you can have all the leverage you need? The etf's trade the same as the futures and the spreads are tighter. Since you are in Canada, there is no tax advantage...

How far did you go net negative before you became net positive?

I probably pissed away $70K+ in 7 years of 'hobby trading' not knowing what I was doing. After getting serious and starting full time, I was down $13k from the learning curve before things turned around (4 months).

    How did you become consistant?

The biggest thing that's helped me be consistent is to trade multiple, non-correlated strategies. September is a perfect example. Two of my systems had rough drawdowns. One of them is my bread and butter, accounting for 60% of ytd p/l. Two other systems, one of which has been pretty...
