    why prop and not futures?

Futures markets are generally much more efficient than individual stocks, of which there are thousands to choose from. Tiny profitable edges are easier to find and there's less competition in some cases.

$-254 net on 111,800 shrs. The monthly win streak ends here. First losing month since April '02. Just a bad run of trades and some systems that had bad spells at the same time. Nothing's broke, just bad luck.

    Typical Fees

You can't generalize like that. Some strategies take ecn liquidity, some add, some may route elsewhere and pay nothing. SEC fees, while everyone pays them, can vary a lot too by how you trade. If you trade stocks under $5, it's miniscule. If you trade SPY, it's a lot. Desk fees vary widely...

    Non Day Trading Prop Firms

Who told you you can't do that at a prop firm? Most firms are just trade facilitators who provide leverage and software. There's lots of them that will let you hold overnight positions.

-$13,074 net. Ugly day, hurts even more because I was up $5k 10 minutes into the day. This month is my worst ever. Need $19k in 3 days to pull it out... don't like my odds.

    Changing Prop Firms

Depends how long it takes your previous firm to process your U-5. Anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. It SHOULD only take a few days. If they are slow and you bug them enough about it, it might speed it up.

    IB Bundled vs Unbundled Pricing.

It totally depends if you're a liquidity adder or taker. I have on nazz system that adds liquidity on most orders and my unbundled commissions work out to about $1.50/1000. If you're always lifting offers and hitting bids in nazz stocks, bundled is probably the way to go.

Has anybody ever defined their risk through 'time in the trade"

I have found great success by using time-out stops rather than traditional stop losses for some strategies. The downside risk is open ended, and in some situations I still step in and override the system to throw in the towel, but rarely. A lot of good systems just need time to work. By...

"I hate when a trade is done and you paid more then the quote price"

The point made in the earlier post is that with a limit order you will never buy a stock at a price higher than the limit you specified. You are arguing that you may pay more than the lowest offer out there. Both points are correct, but not related.

    MOO order at "BZ-Dot" route

Either your broker is simulating a MOO order and not sending it to the specialist to be handled, or you are seeing ecn and third market trading activity between 9:30 and when the specialist opens the stock on the nyse, or in the case of XLE, AMEX, where it's listed. Do you know if your order...

What is consider a good deal?

$4/1000 is not that uncommon if you are a moderately active trader, I'd say at least 500k - 1M shrs/ month. As you alluded though, there can be charges on top of that. Desk/software fees, marked up ecn rates, crazy haircut charges. Also consider the software you'll be trading on. How stable...

    Due diligence

The equities prop trading scene in North America is actually a pretty small word. I think the firm's reputation among it's peers counts for a lot. All the players have been around, have run groups and offices at various places, and are generally known. If they have been anything less than...

Canada to become the 51st - 59th USA State?

I think there was a crack-pot quasi-politician in the 80's who proposed $1M for every man woman and child in the country if they voted him in as prime minister with the platform of selling the entire country to the US. Sounded like a good deal to me...
