Any Prop firm Capital Gain Tax Free?

Not every prop firm requires licensing, it depends how and by whom they are regulated. Swift and Title are not US-based firms either.

Don's Openings and More for 2006

Was anyone short MO this morning for the really weird price action around 9:38? Nyse ask crossed ecn bids down by about 15 cents with 100 shares. He was showing a 1 lot offer at .70. I crossed him by a nickel on EDGX and got out 1500 shares at .72 and .75. A few seconds later it was trading...

-$4564 net on 148,000 shares. Absolutely, bar none, THE worst P/L meltdown I've ever had. I was up $12,000 20 minutes into the day and then saw things evaporate at the rate of $50/minute right to the close. On the wrong side of so many monster trends today. I have to go clean the vomit off...

Thanks. It's a little of everything. I have one system that is 100% automated. The rest is mechanical (spreadsheet spits out instructions, I just enter orders) and old school manual trading- scalping, spreading, market making, etc.

Days like today make me really appreciate strategy diversification. One system kinda sucked today, one sucked big time and one kicked butt. Overall came out ahead by $1967 net on 262,000 shares

Hey man, props to you for scratching GE today, and anyone who made money on it. I was short 10,000 and that bad boy did not give much of a chance.

Don's Openings and More for 2006

I don't know if I'd say they're more difficult, just different. I did good early in the year then played a game of 1 step forward, 1 step back for about 4 months, then took a break. Came back in August with a smaller list, bigger size, paying more attention and results have been good again...

Uneventful witching today, as expected. A glimmer of hope with the ES movement right before the bell, but nothing doin'. 3 longs- 2 winners and a loser for pocket change profits. Trish, you are quoting my stats for last year trading opening orders. Yes, I did about $200k last year with...

Don's Openings and More for 2006

Adding or taking liquidity has nothing to do with hybrid. Taking liquidity is hitting bids and offers. Adding liquidity is being on the bid or offer and someone hitting you. You can pretty much assume that if you get an instant fill, you have taken liquidity.

Don's Openings and More for 2006

Good idea Don. I was actually thinking about this the other day. I'd like to use some kind of screen capture software to record the whole morning of trading, with some voice audio. That would be a neat vid. If I was doing it Bob's way, I'd tidy my desk first...
