Tuco Trading will open foreign accounts no problem. The software is HydraTrade and it's all hotkey based. If you've used Anvil, you'll be quite comfortable with Hydra. You can pm me for more info on the firm if you'd like.

about +5000 net. leaving early, got a bunch of moc orders in, but pretty well hedged, so not much will change by the close. Not even 100,000 shares traded today.

If so many people are unsuccessful traders...

Think of it this way. A very good, active day trader might do 1 1/2 cents net per share traded. 2 is very exceptional, lots of guys would give up a lot to be able to do 1 cent per share net. If you figure the average loser is giving up maybe 3/4 of a cent on average to the spread, and paying...

    Trader P/L 2007

$5554 net on 226,000 shares. The day actually sucked, just got lucky by being long CFC before the news hit and banked a $8,000 gift. BOO-YAH!

If so many people are unsuccessful traders...

If no one had to pay spreads or commissions, there'd be a lot more successful traders. Fading a loser won't solve that problem.

    Trader P/L 2007

$1501 net on 350,000 shares. Lots of boo-boo's today. One mistake for -2700, overriding my system cost me another 4500. Was 90% short today and taking profits too soon. I've got a new sub account to work on a new strategy and the net p/l will always be off, so I'll have to adjust for that.

I dare you the great bulls to dip buy this one

It's a pretty safe bet that real traders aren't out there spouting off market direction predictions. Generally they're trading and don't really care what direction the market goes.

    The "Im an Idiot" thread

It's a proprietary account. They give me as much buying power as I need, but it's also enough rope to hang myself with if I'm not careful.

    The "Im an Idiot" thread

I submited about 150 opening orders, but was travelling and using my laptop. I loaded the wrong spreadsheet with prices about two months old and instead of getting the usual 6 or 8 positions I probably had 70+ before I could cancel. I bought about $15,000,000 worth of stock on a $100,000...

    Trader P/L 2007

-$814 net on 72,000 shares. Breifing cost me almost $5,000 today by missing earnings on one of the stocks I trade. So it shoulda been a good day.

Canadian taxes - Capital gains versus income for Frequent buys

Everything you describe would be capital gains pretty clearly. I've attached an information circular from CRA that spells it out. Short selling will be considered income, as will futures transactions. Options are a bit more subjective.

if you spend more time on ET rather than charting, U R A FOOL

I'm doing ok making a living off the market without charting, and know serveral more who do the same. I'm always amazed at the number of people who think their way is the only way.

    CCI today...rocky road..!

Yeah, nice of them to announce a share buy back and give guidance as the market is opening. I was short 4,000 shares for that whole ride. By the time I knew what the heck was going on it was looking toppy so I held on and got out ok. Earnings season landmines, they can hurt.

    Trader P/L 2007

I'm done early today too. $5,024 net on 139,000. Shoulda been double that, but once again I had self-inflicted errors. Worst run of luck I think I've had in 5 years. Every day for two weeks now something goes wrong, cost me 10's of thousands.

    The Opening Orders Thread

By "didn't look right", do you mean didn't look right for a stock that just reported earnings, or in a different kind of way? How'd IBM and C look to you?
